You say that like that's bad. Edge will clearly pay the face in that encounter. But not in the true 'face' sense, I can see Edge play that half heel/half face role to perfection or basically a true heel that gets cheered by the fans. As long as Cena loses and Edge walks out of the Royal Rumble as WWE Champion then I'm happy.
Yeah, well, depends on how much of a face Edge can be. Heel v heel isn't bad, but for the main event feud, it's a bit weird.

MAJOR SD SPOILERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:

Due to Batista's injury, Angle was traded back to SD! and won a battle royal to become World Heavyweight Champion! You can thank Mark Henry for injuring Batista. :@
-From prowrestlingobserver

WTF!!!!

Maybe Rey Rey will get a shot now?

That was cool. And you can't really blame Henry, Batista was more prone to injury because he was protecting an injured shoulder on the other arm, therefore obviously working his triceps more.

Also, I think Batista's falling apart. He really needs to cut down on bulk, which I hope he'll do in his months out.

But Kurt Angle!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

WHAT?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

That is unbelievable!!!

After a full year of WWE agitating it's most loyal fans to the core, they finally do something to please the more loyal fans!!!

Edge = WWE Champion
Kurt Angle = World Heavyweight Champion

It DOES NOT get any better than that!

:D :D :D

Thank you WWE for finally deciding to intrigue us rather than bore us with predictability.

maybe he'll retire now, jk i hope
Who Angle or Dave Batista?

Either way I hope Angle still has a little bit left in him, as he's clearly the greatest professional wrestler in the last decade, and he fully deserves the World Heavyweight Championship!

As for Batista, I feel sorry for the guy. The guy's got a lot of shortcomings such as on the microphone and a limited moveset, but he's one of the guys you can't help but liking. Most importantly he's hardworking and yet humble. Let's hope this is not the end for him, as he's 41 years old and not getting any younger.

I have a sneaky feeling this equals Shawn Michaels winning the Rumble and switching to Smackdown. Having their rubber match one year from when their series first started would be a fitting end to a feud with so much potential which has been left unachieved.

Or this could mean Angle going back to Raw with the belt, starting another Smackdown v Raw feud.

Whatever it takes!!!
I think he will juz show up at RAW the next week, finish his series with HBK and head off to SD. HBK has Vince at WrestleMania, I believe.

I think that match'll only happen if they can somehow convince Bret to come back as a special ref, which I don't see happening.

i think bret refused on health grounds, i read an interview somewhere that said after his stroke he doesnt know how he would react to be in front of 30,000 people or however many they get in the arenas these days and doesnt want to put his health on the line.

He might make one last appearance on WWE TV. Doesn't have to be live, but maybe a recorded interview on the titantron or something. Maybe even the odd backstage seg. And I think Vince might convince Bret to come back for one last appearance. And Bret might be telling the opposite, juz to throw everyone off track in interviews. Remember Matt Hardy?

When a guy like Kurt Angle gets booed as WWE Champion, he gets booed because he plays his 'heel' role to perfection, raises the emotion of the crowd.

People boo John Cena (me included) because they are damn tired of his nine month WWE Title reign (which was way too long.
9 months is nothing, there has been title reigns in wwf that have lasted for years, i think the longest was seven years. Provided there are good writers and a good wrestler with an appealing character there should be no reason as to why title reigns should last for many months. It would make the belt seem more important, and having 10x champions doesn't make it seem important at all. Btw i agree that Cena's reign had to end, but the legnth of the reign shouldn't matter

Personally, I'm not a fan of reigns that exceed 6 months. I think six months (something like Chris Benoit's World Heavyweight Title reign) is more than enough to establish credibility for the title. But the way Cena was winning just about every match, whether it was either against Jericho, JBL or Kurt Angle, he was beating the odds again and again. That becomes predictable, and WWE is pure garbage when it's predictable.

That'd be a treat for the fans. In interviews though, Bret has expressed that if he'd want to get back into wrestling, that TNA is the place he's most interested in.
