Agreed entirely. If they decide to put Cena's team over that pretty much puts an end to the momentum that Nexus has. Nexus has to win with either Wade Barrett or Justin Gabriel surviving at the end. They could both survive and have them win.

Play up the lack of unity in Cena's team and have Cena just lose and you don't completely bury the their team either. Of course there is the option of turning Cena against his own team if he's fed up of the lack of unity and trust in the team.

There are so many different directions they could go which makes for some excellent television. The booking of this entire angle has been excellent so far. As for Chris Jericho, I can see him turning babyface about the time his second book comes out in February next year.

In general, Summerslam actually has that 'big PPV' feel for me so far this year. Last year it just felt like all of the other summer shows (which was fine as Jeff Hardy & CM Punk tore the house down everywhere) but with this 7 V 7, Orton's title shot & Kane-Rey Rey I feel like it's worthy of its big four status.

My only concern is what will happen with the undercard with Raw's roster being swallowed up by the Nexus match, but there is enough talent on Smackdown for that to not be a huge issue. I'd also like so see Evan Bourne take Miz's US title as Miz is above that level for me now and it would a good rub for Evan...they'd have to actually book the match first though, ha.

Would love to see Christian vs Matt Hardy at Summerslam as well. This feud has been building nicely especially on Smackdown this past week. Looking forward to seeing this progress. Christian needs a heel turn badly. He's best when he's allowed to rip the crowd and his opponents to shreds on the mic yet still expects adulation from his peeps.

Oh aye, forgot about that one. A heel turn is what Christian needs, his matches have still been good but really since the end of ECW he's been a bit irrelevant. A heel turn will freshen things up nicely.

Smackdown was okay this week...as I keep saying, for me it's very watchable and enjoyable but so much weaker than this time last year when it was the hottest wrestling show the E had had in a while. But tbf Raw is tha hot now and Smackdown is better than Raw was last year so all in all the E is doing okay.

It was very predictabable though to see Kane name Rey as the Undertaker's assailant, the seemingly inevitable unveiling of the fact that it has been Kane all along should come at Summerslam. You never know, maybe they'll surprise us.

For me personally though the highlight of the week was watching the main event from Canadian Stampede (1997). It was the Hart Foundation V Stone Cold, Ken Shamrock, Goldust & the Legion of Doom, accompanied by one of the hottest crowds ever. I hadn't watched in since 97 I don't think and enjoyed it so much. Well worth seeking out if you haven't seen it.

Got a couple of hours to kill this afternoon as well with the cricket finishing early so I am going to watch an old War Games match I think.

Canadian Stampede main event is one of my favourite matches of all time, loved it ever since I first saw it. Used to watch my video copy of it over and over back in the day. Used to love watching the Taker/Vader match as well for the chokeslam off the middle rope, that was monsterous.

Smackdown was alright this week but they are clearly just going through the motions. Raw seems to be the stellar show this time around which is great to see. TNA Impact on the other hand was just dreadful. I cannot get behind this ECW reunion show. It's been done and done better by the WWE.

Aye tbh I have given up on TNA. If any matches are getting rave reviews I will check them out but otherwise I'd rather watch better stuff. My DVD collection is growing quite a bit of late, would much rather watch old classics I haven't seen in a while than TNA's latest pathetic attempt to be a poor man's E.

I mean, wasn't TNA's big thing that they offered something different? It's tedious.

Hopefully, on a different topic, smackdown should pick up in a couple of months when it moves channels.

And finally, stellar match between Cena and Jericho last night, by TV standards...will be interesting to see what happens with Team WWE next week.

This whole ECW/TNA thing just strikes me as being a ridiculous idea. If it had never been done before it would have been great, but the fact that it is the most blatant rip off of something the WWE did about half a decade ago is just awful. Even with the best of booking and a couple of great matches they will still never pull off the same atmosphere and feel of the original One Night Stand...

RAW does sound interesting however, not been able to watch as the Sky in my house has had the plug pulled (yet again, no doubt to return in a month or two when my Dad gets bored once more). Sounds like there is some sort of Jericho face turn in the works, though I think I would rather see him stay as the heel for a while longer. I suppose we could end up seeing something similar to Stone Cold in the Invasion. Would mark out if next week team WWE are getting beaten down and Jericho runs out to make the save. The actual Summerslam match itself might not work out so well if Jericho costs team WWE the match, as I don't think that would put Nexus over all that well. But not fussed, just looking forward to seeing what happens.

Samoa Joe has reportedly been suspended indefinitely by TNA. Apparently the reason for Joe's suspension is a bad attitude. There is also at least some heat on Joe for his weight not improving.
Hmmmm.

That's terrible. Samoa Joe is just wasting his time in TNA anyway. He should join WWE while he's still young, over with the fans and has some name recognition. Speaking of TNA, has anyone seen the picture of AJ Styles' tattoo? Now I hate tattoos so I'm a little biased but his tattoo looks absolutely terrible.

I'm okay with the fact that he wanted to do something to show his love for his family but seriously to have such a huge tattoo on your ribs is terrible. It really ruins his whole clean cut image and really doesn't go with the whole Ric Flair protoge gimmick either. He should've just put that on his arm and left it at that. Terrible decision by him and it will ruin his marketability.

Indeed, if Joe is frustrated with stupid booking, then he should probably leave TNA, asap.

He's been in a vegetative state but woke up last week to tell Kane that it was Rey Mysterio who attacked him

Anyone catch Hardcore Justice? Thought it was generally a pretty entertaining PPV, although some parts of it had me scratching my head. Joel Gertners introduction of team 3D was awesome, though the highlight for me was The Gangstas showing up, were one of my favourite parts of ECW. New Jack is a complete nutcase, worst wrestler of all time but he is just mad. Soon as that random rap beat started blaring through the arena I knew it was about to kick off, took me right back in the day 'cause "Natural Born Killaz" blaring through the arena repeat as New Jack and Mustafa went off on one is one of the most iconic and memorable parts of ECW. Their little interview spot with JB was hilarious as well. Seeing them show up made my day.

edit: almost forgot, was awesome to see 2 Cold Scorpio as well, and jesus christ he really was just as good if not better than he's ever been. His 450 moonsault legdrop thing is one of the craziest moves i've ever seen, what a beast.

edit again: Man the whole thing made me want to relive old memories, so glad one of my favourite New Jack appearances is on youtube, his little old granny miming vacuuming into destroying Angels nads is one of my favourite "wrestling" spots of all time. Hilariously brutal.

Never saw it, will catch at some point through this week. Sounds like it was okay, will watch with an open mind anyhow

Watched some of it, seemed like such a waste not to genuinely hire these talents and incorporate them into the TNA product. The original PPV which is being shown as Impact, this week, has a tremendous card which may have really racked up high buy rates.
