End of Raw was intriguing. I still think Sheamus is in cahoots with Nexus. There has been no actual physical contact between him and them.

Raw was a good show overall this week. I like the fact that the WWE are booking the Nexus to be a badass faction. The beat downs backstage were very well done and they all came across as legitimate threats.

The Randy Orton and Evan Bourne spot was very well done even if it was slightly mistimed. Very impressive stuff from both of them. The Brady Bunch stuff was woeful and it just goes to show that wrestling has really changed since the early to mid 2000's.

The ending to Raw was intruiging although Cena and Sheamus slightly messed it up. Cena I think accidentally hit himself with his own chair and busted himself open while Sheamus got a little too excited and ended up dropping his chair accidentally. But overall the handicap match was booked well and it adds a new dimension to the angle between Cena and Nexus.

In TNA news it looks like Paul Heyman could be coming in and taking complete control over the company. Obviously if this were to happen then Hulk Hogan and Eric Bischoff would leave which would be the best thing to happen to TNA in a long time. TNA with Paul Heyman in charge has a legitimate chance of competing and making a name for themselves in pro wrestling.

Although it's not clear whether Paul Heyman will come in. TNA though have kicked off their own ECW Invasion angle, since well everyone's doing an invasion angle these days. The next PPV, which is Hard Justice will be an ECW style PPV like One Night Stand. Not sure how I feel about that because ECW is history and an ECW invasion angle just seems old as it's been done before.

Interesting. Massive lol at the last paragraph though.
Any wrestling promotion with Sean Waltman as their major star seriously has problems. Either way it'll be interesting if they take off but it doesn't look promising. If they can get some free agents like Carlito, Shelton Benjamin and Mickey James along with some well known independent stars then it might get some people to watch them.

If Paul Heyman takes over TNA completely I will be watching every week, no joke.

As for WWE, agree entirely on the theory that Sheamus and Nexus are in cahoots, am anticipating a turn (of sorts) on Sunday. Would love it however, if there is a huge swerve and turns out Cena is in cahoots with them. That would be insane. Clearly not happening mind you.

Yes, I am fully expecting a turn with Sheamus siding with the Nexus. They note that the Nexus have no way of effecting a steel cage match, but they could climb in, go through the door or wait outside - the possibilities are endless, tbh.

Been following some Jim Cornette shoots on youtube and articles that he has written on Jimcornette.com and it is a good insight into the business. He seems to be his own best promoter, but at the same time, he seems to have his head screwed on and knows the sort of stuff that doesn't work (eg, horrendous comedy angles that litter Raw atm). Oh yeah, and he really does not like Vince Russo, he seems to have a genuine hate for him and I guess that was evident in his much publicised email to Terry Taylor.

Jim Cornette is up there with McMahon and Heyman as one of the great wrestling minds. He's just a bit loopy and can sometimes have too much longing for the way things used to be, IMO.

Yeah, entirely this. That letter to Taylor was downright worrying though, makes you wonder if pool old Jim is genuinely insane.

As for the claim that the Nexus cannot interefere in a cage match, well...just generic hype spewed by the E, cage matches are amongst the most widely interefered in. Hopefully they do a Kurt Angle special and try (fail) to rip the door off.

Yes, I do get that feeling sometimes, but you wonder if any of the modernisms that he oppose are really worth it. Guests hosts really detract from the show, overblown opportunities for wrestlers to show off their acting ability often fail miserably (rather than a simple promo) and overbooking (rather than a simple finish) rarely leaves the fan excited, more confused as to who has actually won.

I'd hardly call it generic hype. It's the first cage match since 97 where they have actually used the cage for the right reason.

I don't know about you guys but I'm liking Alberto Del Rio. I think the promos on Smackdown have been fantastic and very well done. The crowd will obviously know who he is when he makes his debut and he'll be more over than he would've been had they just put him on the shows without any build up.

The guy seems to have charisma and is apparently an accomplished wrestler in Mexico. To me he seems to be channelling a mixture of Eddie Guerrero and Chris Jericho which is never the wrong place to start! It still could end up going bad like Carlito did after his awesome promos but I'm interested in this new character and look forward to seeing him debut on Smackdown.

Agree on Del RIo, mb. Never seen any of his matches as Dos Caras but heard good things about them. Looking forwards to him debuting.

That segment went on too long but CM Punk made it awesome. Along with Chris Jericho he's the best all round performer in WWE. Hope they let him grow his hair back now that he's been unmasked and let him continue to keep changing his look.

Not sure if anybody caught TNA Impact this week. The show overall was fairly forgettable except for the Ladder Match between The Motor City Machine Guns and Beer Money. As always these guys delivered. It was one of the best TV matches this year and was a PPV quality match. If you don't want to watch all of Impact this week, try to catch it just for this match.

Money in the Bank is on and I'm actually really looking forward to the show. The card seems really solid and the MITB matches are always very entertaining with often a surprise winner. It's also the match that's been used so well in the past to get up and coming stars into the main event. Here are my predictions for the show.

WWE Championship Match: Sheamus vs John Cena
I see Sheamus winning this one with further possible interference from Nexus. I think Sheamus won't mind that and will win thanks to the Nexus.

World Heavyweight Championship Match: Rey Mysterio vs Jack Swagger
This should be a decent match althought the buildup has been pretty poor. It's pretty obvious that Jack Swagger is the new Kurt Angle but I don't think he's winning here. Rey Mysterio is my pick to win this match.

Raw Money in the Bank Ladder Match
This should be a good match and there are plenty of stars here that could win. I don't see Edge, Randy Orton or Chris Jericho winning here and I don't think they should. They are all at the point in their careers where they don't need to win the MITB ladder match. This match should clearly go to The Miz. He's been the most improved performer in WWE and has been excellent over the past year. He thoroughly deserves to win here and I'm picking him to be the winner.

Smackdown Money in the Bank Ladder Match
There is a good mix here of the bigger guys and the smaller guys along with the ladder match veterans. Kane and Big Show don't need to win and shouldn't win. Christian and Matt Hardy clearly deserve a chance at the World Heavyweight Championship but sadly I don't think that this will be the case. That leaves Drew McIntyre who I think is the favourite to win this. Drew McIntyre is my pick to win here.

Unified Tag Team Title Match: The Hart Dynasty vs The Uso's
I don't really care about this match but The Hart Dynasty will win here.

Divas Championship Match: Alicia Fox vs Eve
I don't care about this match either but I think Eve will win here as Alicia has had the upper hand almost the entire time throughout their feud.

Women's Championship Match: Layla vs Kelly Kelly
Layla is one of my favourite divas and she's been pretty good along with Michelle McCool lately. I think she'll continue her run as Women's Champion and win here.

Overall it seems like a pretty good show with only a couple of weak matches. I really hope they choose their MITB winners carefully and give it to those who deserve the push into the main event. Enjoy the show guys.

Agree with all of those predictions mb. The only thing I'd add is that I think Drew *might* cash in on Rey Rey if he wins. Given Rey's ankle, it would make sense. Then again, I think Christian might have a chance. dunno.

Gotta work in the morning but it's on Sky Sports so I'll be recording it and watching it after work tomorrow. I'll be avoiding this thread all day, therefore. should be a good show, personally I think Cena-Sheamus should be great. Look out for Nexus surrounding the cage to add intrigue to the guys trying to leave.

Yeah, reckon MB has got them more or less nailed down. Might actually stay up and watch tonight seeing as I've been asleep all afternoon.
