Really?

Is Cena really that big nowadays (haven't watched wrestling since start of 06 so no idea).
Yeah he is. He leads the pack in terms of popularity with Orton, Jericho, Edge, DX and Undertaker being the other really big stars in WWE. Cena still gets the mixed reactions sometimes but generally not as much as he did in previous years.

He's no where near as big as Hogan or The Rock, but he's the closest the WWE currently has. I don't watch wrestling regularly (though am tempted by Survivor Series this Monday), but he's only really rivalled by Taker in terms of crowd reactions and he doesn't have anywhere near the mainstream appeal of Cena.

Interesting, I knew he had become the franchise player of the WWE, but didnt know he had achieved that much.

Done it mainly as a face?

Yeah.

The thing about Cena is that he's over with everyone. if you're not cheering him, you're booing him. Apathy is an emotion that nobody seems to hold to him.

Anyone watching Survivor Series tonight? Got a couple of mates coming round, looking forwards to it, haven't watched a PPV live since Summerslam

Survivor Series was awesome! It was such a great show with a super crowd and the Survivor Series Matches were booked perfectly.

A fantastic PPV from start to finish. Sheamus, Drew McIntyre and The Miz looked like stars, Christian and Kofi Kingston looked like stars and after tonight you could consider that both are future World Heavyweight Champions.

Kofi had the performance of his career really and he's been on fire as of late. Great booking by WWE to elevate Kofi and make him look like a World Champion. Kofi is really popular at the moment and I hope that he's going to be in the main event and competing for the WWE Championship.

This happened during the Chris Jericho vs Big Show vs The Undertaker match as Chris Jericho was dragging Undertaker from near the barricade near the crowd back to the ring and can be clearly heard on camera.

Fan: (talking to Jericho) "Go back to Toronto!"

Jericho: "I'm from Winnipeg you idiot!"

Big win for Kofi Kingston last night, looks like the most exciting thing to have happened on the show.
wat, the whole thing was immense, best show of the year quite comfortably

Haha, yes I had a good chuckle at that.

Fantastic show. Cena V DX was BRILLIANT.

Haha, didn't mean to make it sound like the rest was rubbish tbh, just from a quick read of the results this seemed like the highlight to me.

It was good, what a rub to get, pinning two world champs in quick succession

Highlight for me was HBK's kick on HHH. Of course we knew they would fight at some point, but it was done brilliantly. Whole match was great.

Pretty bonza show yesterday. Kofi looked a star (and so did Christian considering the pop for the Killswitch), Sheamus looked like an absolute beast (not sure about McIntyre but) and a really entertaining main event.

I don't want to get my hopes, but it seems like they've said to themselves "ok **** we have to start making new stars" and are really pushing hard with Kofi, Sheamus, McIntyre, Miz, etc. The reaction for Miz really interests me because he is starting to get some big reactions, and has great mannerisms at ringside. Had you told me four years ago that Mike Mizanin would be one of the bigger heels on Raw, I'd have had you committed.

Oh, and how 'badass' did Batista look?!

Jesse Ventura was awesome!

That was a great Raw, I don't know When you guys get it but don't miss the show

Survivor Series was good but not great

Sheamus is the number one contender?!
It's an odd pick by WWE to have Sheamus main event a PPV and I think it's too soon for him, but I don't care. It's great to see WWE get behind the young guys and give them an opportunity to succeed. I'm sure Sheamus is going to learn a lot from main eventing a PPV with John Cena and good luck to him.

The reactions Miz are getting are quite similar to The Rock circa late 98/early 99. Gets a lot of heat but they wanna sing along with his catchphrases. Add Morrison to that list of youngsters - it is a fresh and exciting time in WWE, love it.
