It's an odd pick by WWE to have Sheamus main event a PPV and I think it's too soon for him, but I don't care. It's great to see WWE get behind the young guys and give them an opportunity to succeed. I'm sure Sheamus is going to learn a lot from main eventing a PPV with John Cena and good luck to him.
Could work out ok though, it's kind of like when Bobby Lashley faced Cena at the great american bash that one time, quite the match that turned out to be as well. Though granted Lashley had a lot more experience than Sheamus does at the moment. Seems like quite a decent move to me, will only benefit from the experience. Means that they can free up HBK and HHH to develop into whatever they have planned for them as well...

Need Jericho to drop the tag belts soon and win the big one, ready for Edge to take it off him at Mania, come on

Yeah, has to happen soon as well, because there is inevitably a Jericho/Big Show feud to be had in the meantime. Perhaps if we are lucky, in the next few months Jericho can beat Taker, pick up the gold, lose the tag belts, feud with Show, beat him, and then Edge returns to face him for the World Title.

Watched all of Raw, except the DX/Hart Dynasty match (which wasn't on the upload that I was watching), on youtube. Was a pretty impressive show, tbh. Jesse 'the Governor' Ventura did a good job. He stumbled a bit with words, but his 'shoot' style promos throughout the evening, especially the anti-Cena one were very good. Enjoyed listening to Mcmahon and Ventura on the microphone too, don't remember Ventura's commentating much, but he was good and Mcmahon commentating brought back memories to 1996/7 when I was first getting into wrestling, especially his little 'play-by-play' points, that separated from the banter.

Sheamus as the number one contender ought to be interesting. The fact that it is a tables match means that Cena will go win with the FU without much problem, but this could be part of an interesting push for Sheamus - he's put together and will be interesting if he can go 10-20 minutes in a match with Cena, as he hasn't actually wrestled in a big match in his WWE tenure.

Christian vs Shelton Benjamin in a ladder match for the ECW Championship at TLC.

Has the potential to be the match of the night. Glad to see Shelton getting an opportunity at a PPV to be part of an important match.

Yeah this should be awesome, about time Christian got some sort of serious feud and moved away from ECW as well to be honest. He's good there, don't get me wrong, but he is light years ahead of everyone else on that brand in terms of star quality and could probably be used better elsewhere now. Like you say though, nice chance for Shelton to showcase himself, though he clearly isn't going to walk out of this the winner.

The Undertaker is expected to retain the World Heavyweight Championship through the Royal Rumble, at which point he will drop the title to Batista.

There has been talk of running the match at WWE's annual January pay-per-view spectacular with Batista heading into WrestleMania 26 with the belt.
Edge vs Batista vs Jericho at Wrestlemania anyone? Would rather see something else tbh, but this seems to be where this one is headed...

-- The next issue of Inside Wrestling features The Rock and John Cena on the cover of the magazine with a headline reading: "Hot WrestleMania Rumor - John Cena vs. The Rock." The sister publication of Pro Wrestling Illustrated claims that the "mega-bout is closed to being signed." The article's synopsis reads: "The relationship between The Rock and John Cena is strange. Cena respects all The Rock has accomplished yet seems to resent it at the same time. That is why "The Champ" is pining for a match with The Rock at WWE's showcase event. Word is, this mega-bout is close to being signed." Right. To view the cover of the magazine, visit Welcome to PWI Online. The issue hits newsstands December 8, 2009.
Oh god..make it happen Vince, make it happen goddamn you.

Would be epic.

Question is who will go over? The Rock has to win right? It's going to be The Rock vs Hogan all over again with the fans crapping all over Cena just like they did with The Rock when he faced Hogan.

Don't know to be honest, I wouldn't mind whoever won. I don't disagree with you that the logical choice may be for Rock to win, but would that really be credible? I mean, could a guy who hasn't had a competitive match in half a decade really beat someone who has been dominating for throughout the same time period? Bit dodgy. That said, if they built it up like they did the Rock/Lesnar match where they showed Rock working harder than he ever had to get into shape for the match they could make it work I suppose. I'd just want to see it mind you, more interested in a "Wrestlemania moment" rather than the result.

Watched WM17 last night, you forget how special the main event is til you watch it again
True, I remember the build up to the match a lot more than the match itself mind you. The way that feud was built was absolutely perfect, probably the best work Rock and Austin ever did. Whenever someone mentions WM17 my initial thought is of Edge spearing Jeff Hardy from the top of the ladder rather than anything else. Maybe the best WWE spot ever imo. Toss up between that and the Pedigree on the thumbtacks.

One of my favourites was Orton being slammed onto thumbtacks. I am a squeamish person, but I remember watching that with my mouth open and actually standing up and thinking what the ****?

Angle suplexing Shane McMahon through the glass wall (and failing the first time) was ****ing nuts as well.

I know, I'm saying its up there with the Edge spot and the Triple H/Foley spot.

Angle wrestled 3 times at that KOTR didn't he
