As soon as I posted I realised that was what you meant but cbf to edit

Yeah, he did indeed.

My favourite spot is HBK falling off the cell in HIAC 1. Obviously Foley's surpassed it but at the time the impact was immense.

Eddie Fatu AKA Umaga has passed away. :(
Very sad, was never a fan of the guy, but was way too young and should never have gone in the way that he did (initial reports seem to indicate his death came about from the use of prescription pills). Best memories of him are probably his matches with Jeff Hardy, which were always quite good. Hope the E acknowledge his death on RAW this week as well as the statement on their website, as although he had recently been fired he was still an important part of their roster at various points, notably around WM 23.

Something that just struck me, both Eddie Guerrero and Umaga's last match was against Ken Kennedy. Obviously entirey coincidental, but could probably do without this hanging over his head when he's already known to be a serial botcher.

I thought Umaga's last match was against CM Punk

Or did he wrestle elsewhere after his release

Was meant to be Vince's answer to Samoa Joe but it wasn't meant to be.

More importantly, RIP Eddie, thoughts with your loved ones :(

Anyone see TLC? Just checked the results, staggered
****ing hell, just checked, not usually a fan of so many title changes in one night, but jeeez, really want to watch a few of the matches now. They're treating Sheamus like the new Brock Lesnar, incredible. Sounds like a great booking though, everyone had this down as being a filler match on the card and a Cena clean win, can't see him holding long though, with WM round the corner and all.

Edit: Just realised that the Batista title change didn't actually stand.

Nope. Wonder if he'll keep the belt tonight.

Also, TNA is going head to head with Raw on Monday 4th January. Apparently Hogan wants this to be a regular thing and that's his debut night. Nice idea in principle, alas The Rock is guest hosting Raw on 4th January so Impact is unlikely to get too many curious viewers (i.e. they'll get their hardcore fans and floaters will lean to Raw) and therefore I don't think they'll get off the ground.

Of course, people said Nitro had no chance of overtaking Rawa and beat it 84 weeks in a row 96-98, as well as even beating American Football 17 times. But, as Mark Madden (who is a **** but I agree with him) said, WCW has Hogan not too far past his prime and Ric Flair, as well as the nWo invasion angle. Can't see TNA coming up with anything that good with Russo in charge, and if Hogan starts leading the booking then say good night.

All that being said, there will be no clash here in the UK so if we have even any sort of Monday Night War it will likely get me watching Impact to see what they are doing differently to try and get viewers.

The thing is, TNA has top front men in AJ Styles and Kurt Angle who fans both love to hear on the mic and wrestle. If TNA are smart, they will build the company around them and the veterans of Sting, Jarrett, Nash, etc, who are already over and their young breed who are not too shabby, either. I fail to see how they will compete with WWE seriously, but I think they could put a dent in some ratings.

I don't think any of those names will make casual fans turn over. Even Kurt who is an absolute great doesn't have the mainstream appeal that caused people to watch Nitro and then Raw in the 90s, like Hogan, Austin and Rock did.

Plus when WCW toppled what was then WWF it was a very badly ran company that was out of ideas and going nowhere. Wrestlemania in the year Nitro started was headlined by a past his prime midcarder looking at the lights for an American Footballer. People may not like a lot of aspects of WWE these days but it is hugely stable and powerful compared to the mid90s.

I can't imagine that Vince is worried, alas if TNA did start turning the heat up I guess it could mean the end of the PG era. I'm not actually sure if that would be a good thing, the last thing we need is another attitude era.
