ahahahah oh my god Raw, so awesome. Been waiting for HHH to get involved ever since Steph first got involved in the angle with Orton. That RKO he hit her with was so epic as well he proper went for it. And my god, Trip's face at the end, so hilarious but awesome. For once I'm really looking forward to HHH handing a top young star his ass on a silver platter, can't wait for next week

What do people think about this year's Wrestlemania? I think the card is virtually set in stone.

World Heavyweight Championship Match:

Edge vs Cena.
Could be fun, would rather Jericho v. Edge

WWE Championship Match:

Triple H vs Randy Orton.
Haven't these two already fought each other loads before. Would be a tad stale.

ECW Championship Match:

Jack Swagger vs Christian.
Christian is still alive:blink:
Other Matches:

Shawn Michaels vs The Undertaker

Chris Jericho vs Steve Austin

Matt Hardy vs Jeff Hardy

Money in the Bank Match

That's a pretty awesome Wrestlemania card right there and with matches like these, I think it will be a great show.
First two would have been more excting 5 years ago the others have potential.

Just dl'd and watched No Way Out.

Thought the was damn watchable but the booking was questionable in a lot of cases. The quality of the two title matches were off the chain and Shane-Orton was well handled considering who was in the ring. Not a fan of the direction for Mania tbh, Trips v Orton does nothing for me, Edge v Cena will be great to watch in the stadium but I have doubts it will sell.

They really are putting a lot of their eggs into the HBK v Taker basket if they want to draw big. Would be very worried to see Austin come out of retirement although it would be a crazy atmosphere.

Where the hell have you been? Look through this thread. Christian has returned to the WWE and is now wrestling on the ECW brand.

He has been performing in TNA for the last 3 years and was one of their biggest stars. He was a two time TNA World Heavyweight Champion for goodness sakes!

I never picked up on TNA, probably explains it.

Piper's promo on Jericho was incredible. One of the best pieces on the mic I have ever seen. Needs to be seen to be believed.

Was actually watching the Born to Controversy DVD the day before. Man he was awesome.

One thing that has irked me, though, was his match with BNB at WrestleMania VI. I didn't get the whole half-black, half-white thing considering he was a face and went over.

Agreed. It was absolutely stellar. Even better than the Jericho and Flair promo the week before. I've always thought Piper was good on the mic but I never knew Piper was this good. Jericho came across as the biggest jerk in that segment as well, which shows that he's one of the best heels going around today.

Oh and congratulations on bringing up the 5000 posts duffer! It's been good having you here in this thread and on these forums.

Haha cheers mate.

Piper was one of the pioneers on the mic IMO. Some of his earlier stuff was outstanding and Piper's Pit is absolutely legendary in pro wrestling. The guy is incredible.

A mate of mine has the Born to Controversy DVD and has been buggin me for ages to see it. Might ask him for it next time I see him. How would you rate the actual DVD?

I really liked it. The doco is pretty good, and the extras are awesome (and I mean AWESOME). Essentially one disc doco, one disc matches, one disc Piper's Pit and promos. Highly recommended.

Absolutely blown away by WWE now that I've seen NWO and RAW.

Edge getting eliminated first in the SD chamber pissed me off to begin with, but I had sensed something screwy was in the offing as soon as Undertaker came out to open the show, so it wasn't that much of a surprise when Edge appeared later on. I did love him winning the title in trademark fashion once again, and I totally marked out for it.

Both Chamber matches were off the charts in terms of entertainment, too. Triple H vs Undertaker at the end of the first one was just as epic as you'd expect, and I was astonished by Mysterio's performance in the RAW chamber, he was a human highlight reel for most of it.

Orton's win over Shane was a very good encounter, with a nice bit of hardway blading by Shane with the TV monitor. Probably not intentional, but it gave Orton an even more badass look as he beat the crap out of Shane. This, in turn, led to one of the best endings to an episode of RAW that I can remember.

Shane takes the inevitable boot to the head, fair enough, totally expected. The RKO on Steph, however, was totally unexpected for me, and was exceptionally well-executed to go with it. Triple H's subsequent arrival and uber-pissed-off face-making were also a definite mark-out moment.

Am so excited to see where this all leads for WrestleMania, especially with all the cross-brand malarkey.

One other thing to consider for WM - Hulk Hogan is being considered for a match, probably against John Cena. I wouldn't normally be in favour of this, but Hogan vs Cena would be one of the biggest marquee matches in the history of the business, and I have no doubt Cena would make it work. As long as Hogan agreed to do the job, that'd be a superb addition to the card, IMO.

Been meaning to ask, thought HHH & Steph were long since divorced in storyline terms
They are. They're still very much married in real life though, which means that for the first time in the history of WWE, the main event of WrestleMania will be based around an angle that smashes kayfabe to pieces. Very interesting stuff.

Watched SD online just now - Triple H's sit-down interview with JR was just amazing stuff. Reminds you why the guy can sell PPVs like very few in the business.

"JR...Randy Orton's been walking a fine line around here for a while now. This past week on RAW, he put his hands.....(long pause, drink of water).....I'm sorry. A lot of people might not like my father-in-law, Vince McMahon. But he's a 63 year-old man. Randy Orton kicked him in the head, and then hid behind doctors and lawyers. He did the same to my brother-in-law, Shane, for trying to defend his father. And then.....he put his hands on my wife. (looks into the camera) You've crossed the line, Orton. One you can't come back from. Stephanie is the mother of my children....."(takes off microphone, gets up and leaves)

Just phenomenal work there. This feud is not exactly fresh, but it is going to be off the charts in terms of entertainment, from what we've seen so far.

Yeah, so WM is pretty much shaping up as expected, HHH-Orton, Edge-Cena, Jeff-Matt

Looking good, where will Jericho be at WM? Money in the bank?

Having seen the Piper thing from Raw, Jericho seems set for something other than Money in the Bank. The Micky Rourke angle is obviously in there in some way. What's the score folks?

I personally think that they are building towards Chris Jericho vs Steve Austin at Wrestlemania 25. Of course internet rumours are going around that WWE are trying to get Hulk Hogan to face Chris Jericho.

But internet rumours have been so wrong lately, I wouldn't really take much notice of them. After all internet rumours suggested that Christian was the one that attacked Jeff Hardy and the WWE changed that storyline to Matt Hardy attacking Jeff and Christian surprised everyone and showed up on ECW.

WWE are trying to downplay Steve Austin's involvement in Wrestlemania as much as they can and because of that I think that he'll be the one to face Jericho at Wrestlemania.

I'd say Austin-Jericho would be better than Hogan-Jericho, so I'm in favour of that. However, I am also massively in favour of Cena-Hogan, as I think it'd be a huge, huge marquee match.

As it stands, this would be my ideal WrestleMania card, given what we seem to have laid out so far:

The Champ vs The Immortal
John Cena vs Hulk Hogan

WWE Championship Match
Triple H (c) vs Randy Orton

'Stone Cold' Returns
'Stone Cold' Steve Austin vs Chris Jericho

The Streak vs The Showstopper
The Undertaker vs Shawn Michaels

World Heavyweight Championship Match
Edge (c) vs The Big Show

'Brother vs Brother' Grudge Match
Jeff Hardy vs Matt Hardy

Tag Team Match for the World and WWE Tag Team Championships
The Colons (c) vs Miz and Morrison (c)

Legendary Diva Challenge Match
Beth Phoenix vs Trish Stratus

ECW Championship Match
Jack Swagger (c) vs Christian

Fatal Four-Way Match for the United States Championship
Shelton Benjamin (c) vs MVP vs Chavo Guerrero vs R-Truth

Money In The Bank Match
Rey Mysterio vs Umaga vs Mr. Kennedy vs Evan Bourne vs CM Punk vs Kane vs Cody Rhodes vs Ted DiBiase vs Kofi Kingston vs William Regal

Think they might go for an expanded MITB match this year, just to get some extra guys on the card. Was also going to fit in a match involving Kozlov, but there just wasn't anything available really. I doubt he'll get a match.

I just read that Austin will be on RAW on Monday and again two weeks later, guess this would fit with Jericho's current angle
