I think the whole discussion is likely to be moot as the number of tests where we will want to play a spinner (or two) and both Wagner and CDG are still available and noone else is injured... is very few or zero.

Abbas’s review is interesting. Easy to criticise him (fun too) but clearly he ‘knew’ that he hadn’t hit it. If any batsman just walked off after being given out for a play and a miss, even a nightwatchman, you’d think they were crazy. Based on what he knew, reviewing was the only sane option.

Batters don’t know if they’ve hit it.
