Oh yes, no mistake it was an atrocious innings, but not one that should be held against his long term form. Woodcock and Rhodes lost that game for Wellington, but those set of circumstances are very unlikely to be replicated. One thing is for sure, I wouldn't be shoving him up the order if the skies go dark.

Hehe, the first thing that comes up after a search for Milne on Google is the thread Flem made about him a few months ago. There were 11 guests in that thread just a moment ago, Cricinfo probably doing a little bit of hunting.

Haha, well I wouldn't rule it out. It seems we'll do anything to try and fit as many average cricketers into a team. Franklin shouldn't be anywhere near the test team, he's a proven failure with the bat and he can't bowl anymore.
1.Macintosh
2.McCullum
3.Williamson
4.Taylor
5.Ryder
6.Franklin
7.Vettori (c)
8.Young+
9.Southee
10.McKay
11.Martin

I don't see it happening tbh. If Guptill doesn't play at number 3 then someone like Taylor would likely fill that role. Williamson is to inexperienced you would think?

If Williamson bats anywhere other than 6 in the next 18 months I will write an email of protest to Justin Vaughn.

Also I agree with everything Howsie said about Franklin. I said the same thing in an earlier post only more politely.

We just have to accept we will have a sub standard batsman at number 3 for the next 18 months or so.

Milne got interviewed on one network news. Poor kid was nervous. Luckily they had shane bond there to support the interview.

Bond said he is going to be a 150kms bowler. I HOPE we aren't picking him too soon.

Good luck to the young man.

Good luck also to Reece Young. Must have been a close call between him and Kruger.

What? He said he was sure he'd get a bit nervous but was keen to have a crack. That's just the usual stuff a young player trots out in his first interview. Was pretty impassive during the interview as well.

And Bond was interviewed in a completely different location.

I'm so happy that ****ing ugly little man ****kins is gone.
I actually think he would have gone better against Pakistan who lack a Zaheer.

But I am fine with the decision to drop him. Even if Young can average 25 this series then we have found someone for a while.

He isn't being picked for his interview skills, he is in for bowling 140kms an hour. But you have to admit that Bond looked all laid back and fluent and Milne looked like he was 18 years old and on TV for the first time. If I was picking the team based on who could talk a good game. Andre Adams would be in and Milne would be out.

What is wrong with saying he looked nervous? I would be nervous on TV and I am 38.
I hope he kicks ass in the games.

Amen. Is Andre Adams in the world cup squad or is he retired now?

Not even sure that Bond interview was recent. Coulda been from a while back. That or he's said the same things before.

How Nicol didn't make the T20 squad :S And Brownlie who has never gotten a fifty did :S

Typical NZ selections. Pick a player on first class stats/form for T2-0 cricket and vice versa. I guess they want a look before the World Cup but it seems a bad move.

Shows how worthless the HRV cup is when performing players don't even get fixed.
