Yeah...not being the test squad is messed up....don't think we need him in the ODIs or T20s.
Awful technique, but the guy has great temperament. Can't think of a reason why he didn't atleast get 2-3 series after his debut 100 tbh. He'll make a better test player than Umar 'talented' Akmal

Alam has performed so well domestically...there is not a single award that this guy has not gotten for his domestic performances. Debut 168 against SL in tough conditions and still is being overlooked for tests.

For Odis i couldn't care less if he was there or not...but for tests he deserves a place absolutely.

Why ? He has done okay in ODIs, hasn't he ? I remember he did quite well in Australia.

Not really. He is not a big hitter of the ball and if they play him in lower middle order where you need someone to score off quickly he has failed quite many times.

On a very good day i have seen him score a run a ball at best...which is not bad considering the context of the game but its simply not good enough for today's ODI cricket.

To me Umar Akmal is a much better option for ODIs.

How did we get away with announcing our squad late? Is it because we went through a change in coaching and selection personnel, coincidentally, at exactly the time we were supposed to announce the squad?

Argh! Milne hasn't even been bowling very well in the HRV cup!

Yay for Woodcock, though I'm not sure how well he's going to slot in with the current BC side. Brownlie could be interesting.

My thoughts exactly. Maybe they saw something in that epic swing-and-miss-fest against Auckland that we didn't.
I imagine he's being picked on his bowling as much as anything else. Bizarrely, he's been comfortably the best bowler in the HRV cup this season.

I find it strange that you're talking about form, and seem to take issue with Milne, yet Woodchoke being there is completely fine by you?

Love it when MMR comes out of lurkdom to lol at some random dude before disappearing again.

One day he'll trip up and say something nice about a random.:p

Get bent mason lover.

I struggle to see how Wellington journeyman Luke Woodcock, managed to make it into the T20 squad over the electric Rob 'Curls' Nicol.

Luke Woodcock - wow! We played in the same team growing up. Didn't think he'd ever make the Black Caps but good on him.

Great to see CW Blogger Pete McGlashan get recalled as well :)

I'm opposed to Milne's selection for reasons other than his high economy rate and lack of wickets.

And as previously mentioned, Woodcock's bowling has been awesome, so GAGFC.
