He does have a point tho, given the likes of Nicky Peng (ex-Durham bat) can get a contract and he's been absolutely crap for Durham before Glamorgan took him in (and he was absolutely crap for them instead). Schofield does have very good averages and you'd have thought some county would have took him in even if only as a batsman.

On the subject of Chris Schofield and not being able to get a contract. It does seem he has an attitude problem and maybe this is what's keeping him back, I mean he must have helped contribute to his own downfall.

Attitude problems can be sorted, and a couple of seasons languishing in Minor Counties may well be a decent kick up the ****. But he's gathered a reputation now, which is the most damaging thing about an indiscretion and why no one will touch him - even if he has sorted this apparent attitude problem.

I really hope Lewis gets the opportunity. I wanted him to play the last test. People may say that Saj was suited to Old Trafford, but the extra pace and bounce would have added a little extra dimention to Lewis's medium pace. I generally prefer the proven, and experienced guy compared with throwing in raw and unproven players. I like an England cap (in any sport) to be earned and I think Lewis has done that whereas guys like Saj and Plunkett have not.

On a side note, I've been out of the UK for a few years now. I hear that Headingley has been relayed and has changed from its old seaming self. How big a change has it made?

when i went to the Roses match earlier in the season it was pretty flat and not that quick or bouncy but the recent weather might have changed that.

Anyway setting off for Headingly in a bit, they better put on a good performance again, i think i'm pushing my luck crossing the border twice in a week.

According to the BBC, good for today and tomorrow with sunny intervals, spot of rain for Sunday than more of the decent weather for Monday and Tuesday.

That's better.

Mahmood starts ahead of Lewis.

Nazir, Butt and Umar come in for, Abdul Razzaq, Shahid Afridi and Imran Farhat.

Be interesting to see how Nazir gets on, watched him years back and he was an excellent prospect.

Fletcher picks Mahmood again am sick of Lewis being made unavailable for Glos only for him to not take any part.

Good catch by Sami to provide the first breakthrough for Pak. The way things have gone, my first reaction was that Sami was going to drop it.
