So what's the evaluation process in ICC for umpires after games? Are close decisions reviewed? Are umpires fined/disciplined? Basically, is there any process to review an umpire's performance?

Well there's a bit of a consolation prize. Pak should have had more wickets if not for bad umpiring, but at least we have bounced back after the good opening partnership.

The umpires in the elite panel have to maintain their standard or they're out. But the ICC is quite lenient, even Bucknor in his bad period was never really under threat.

In every sport, authorities are allergic to criticizing umpries and referees, and cricket is no different.

Imagine the proposed appeal right had been implemented...Inzy would have used his two appeals and had won them both...what on earth can be the argument against having a limited number of appeals against decisions??

Even though England scored over 100 runs in that session, it almost feels like Pak's session considering the last 45 mins.

Anyway getting back to the selection... why Mahmood ahead of Lewis? At Headingley where pace doesn't really matter... Why?
Same reason Geraint, Plunkett, Harmison (pre-2004), Kabir and Solanki in ODIs, etc. have been given runs in the side?

My thougts exactly. I don't know why some are so opposed to having an appeals system, across the sports world it seems. Here in the U.S, there are plenty who don't like the NFL's "instant replay" appeals process. There is opposition to install that in baseball and NBA. People say it will slow down the game (whatever sport). So what??? Isn't it more important that the correct decisions are made?

Why bother having Lewis in the squad in the first place then if you're not going to pick him on the ideal pitch for him after Mahmood was wicketless?

Aggers and Gooch showing how stupid they are on TMS at the moment. Aggers reckons you should only use technology when it's 100%... oh right. Think we'd all better get back to the stone age then eh because nothing is 100%. Gooch agrees with it predictably, the guy who thinks 8 an over in the last 10 overs is almost impossible.

According to cricinfo, the pitch is offering considerable movement.

And Inzamam brings Kaneria into the attack.

Well, he did trap Pietersen LBW straight away, but it wasn't given..big surprise there...

Why the hell is Inzamam presisting with Sami when he has been, by far, the least effective and most costly of the three pacers.

Why the hell is he even playing? How is he a better bowler then Razzaq? How much has Sami paid to stay in the team?

Promised Inzi a paratha for each run he concedes.

To be fair though. Razzaq has not been much better.

Razzaq certainly offers much more in the batting department and he surely can't be worse then Sami as far as the bowling is concerned.

Run like Inzy

U19 12th Man
Razzaq was definately the better choice, and it was shocking not to see him play. He has completely out bowled Sami in the series (although I guess that wasn't the hardest thing to do) and would have given much needed batting depth given the uncertain nature of the openers. Maybe Inzy wanted someone with some pace? - oh yeah I forgot Sami lost that too along with his ability to take a wicket

How badly do you think Inzi and the rest of his players regrets asking the PCB to vote against the appeal system?

Recount please!:D

Did they do that? If so, all sympathy is off.
