Let him write as many books as he like, he will have plenty of time for them now since hopefully he will not be umpiring again in international cricket
Amen to that. Hopefully good riddance.

Yeah but you have to read that "few minutes" in the context of the half an hour + that it actually took.
Well, that's the whole event though. The transition from "where are the Pakistan team" to "the Pakistan team is out, but the umpires aren't coming" all seemed to happen fairly quickly to me, but I was only following it on cricinfo.

Funnily enough, it's not like I'd put it above Pakistan management (or any cricket team for that matter) to tell a self-serving story. I just have an issue with your authoritative description of events as "the Pakistani version". :p

Farce, farce, farce. Someone call in Basil Fawlty please. The ICC are acting like a bunch of frickin' losers. Tossers.

9.10pm After the news that the Test was off there are again further conflicting reports coming out of the The Oval with sources saying the match is still on. The amazing events continue to unfold.

I expect they have just phoned the ICC.. It's like going to the Dalai Lama for advice on contraceptives.. We haven't seen the ultimate lunatic fringe get involved yet, but wait till the morning for it all to kick off..

Hair is probably furiously throwing back a few bottles of scotch back at his hotel right now, with Bonnie Tyler pumping out at high volume, so he can't hear the phone ringing.

Yep, breaking news on the BBC that the game has been officially awarded to England who win the series 3-0.

Right decision IMO, although i agree with Pakistan, they went about it entirely the wrong way.
