I think pak can restore some pride if they manage the last match to last for 5 days and make Aus fight for victory.

I think Farhat should be thrown out of the test match, malik is already out of match with illness and even if Razzak recovers, he shouldn't be considered.

i would go for foll 11 players

Butt
Afridi
younus
Inzi
Youhanna
Asim
Akmal
Naveed
akhter
danish
khalil.

Afridi will probably fail but unlike Farhat or hameed he can be useful with the ball. Naveed should get the nod coz of his expeiance, he might not be good but still is better than Razzak.

I think Pakistan will play Hameed and you can't throw him out of the match because he is probably the most consistent performing opener Pakistan have right now. Sending him one down in the last 2 matches might have affected his batting, and Pakistan should have changed Farhat's batting position and not Yasir Hamid's since Farhat was the one struggling to score runs batting as an opener. Maybe they'll throw Imran Farhat out this time and have Yasir Hameed open the batting for them along with Salman Butt. Maybe Afridi can play one down or at fifth or sixth position

i think imran farhat played rather well in the first innings and i heard woolmer praising him too
so i dint think he will lose his place specially with all the injuries around

Taufiq cant be played as he is not in the squad. probality would suggest that imran farhat makes way for inzamam and yasir is put up the order to open with butt. shoaib malik goes out and in comes asim kamal or afridi. sami will be repaced by asif or khalil. though pakistan mite want to play 2 spinners on the turning wicket of sydney and still play another specialist batsmen, in which case:

Butt
Yasir
Younis
UlHaq
Youhana
Asim Kamal/Razzaq
Afridi
Kamran
Akthar
Asif
Kaniera
I would pick this team for the sydney wicket, and seeing akhtar will probaly not bowl more then 5 over spells, razzaqt mite have to be played as an extra seamer although his penetration skills with the ball are quite inept.

Obviously that hasn't been decided yet or he wouldn't be in the squad. If MacGill plays as a second spinner, Watson will play with him.
and what are the chances of them playing assuming there are no injuries?

Imran Farhat scored 44 runs in those 2 test matches, averaging only 11 runs

You would have to be mentally ill to call that consistency

And Yasir Hameed did not play the first test match, and he might have done better if he had since his performance would not have been any worse than his in 2nd test and Imran Farhat's in both.

so if you judge everything on the australia series where farhat has played 2 matches and hameed one then surely salman butt is the most consistent opener? you don't even take the past series into account when judging consistency?
i never said farhat was consistent - i just said he has been more consistent than hameed which doesn't neccessarily mean i think he has been consistent, the fact is that you said "hameed is probably the most consistent performing opener Pakistan have right now" which is not correct - the fact you said probaly gets ya out of jail

I wrote to Dish Network asking them why they were replaying the ICC Champions Trophy. And this was their reply,"Thank you for your e-mail. Specific information regarding the re-broadcast of ICC Champions Trophy is not currently available. It is our intent to add a variety of programming and services to please the majority of current and future subscribers. We will gladly forward inquiry to our Programming Department for further consideration."

I assume it'll be decided on the day, but I wouldn't have said there's a big chance of it happening. For a start I don't see the point in playing 2 leggies when you've got other options in the team to still play the usual attack.

If you really wanna take past series into consideration when judging a player's consistency, then look at their average.
