Out of interest, why do you have it on tape? You wouldn't have known he was going to say that!?
Ha - there are so many occasions when something like this happens and you WISH you had it on tape.... But this particular time, we were going out for a couple of hours, and I wanted to catch the last session, so I taped it. If I had a VCR-in card in my PC, I'd throw an mpeg up or something.

Why do you think it will be a terrible idea infact that is a great idea.So lets see the wicket keeper dont know how to bat although we did see him bat little bet making score around 10 or 12 and getting out and not to mention that he also dropped easy catche's so why not have a player who bats well who fields well oh bowls well.I dont see any thing wrong with that marc!.
and shahid afridi has a much better record againts aus taking five wickets when aus toured pakistan and averaging 32% with the strike rate of 69% with his batting. So why not have a player that can take the attack up to the bowlers unlike kamal and bowl as well.i dont see any thing wrong with that marc unless you have some thing wrong with your brain.

For a start taking the gloves in 2 or 3 meaningless ODI's is the limit of his experience as a keeper.

That immediately makes it a stupid idea.

I mean would England give them to Trescothick or Australia to Langer?

According to SSN the Australian team have donated their match fees to the disaster relief fund, it would be good if England, SA and Pakistan were to follow suit

Sure Australia would if Langer could be a good wicket-keeper and if Gilchrist were only averaging around 20 to 25 runs per game( that's the case with Pakistan)

Pakistan has little to lose at this stage. They've been unashamedly outclassed in the first two Tests and Akmal has contributed near squat. Younis Khan on the other hand has not been the worst batsman about.

Uh no they wouldn't. Australia would bring in Bradley or possibly Ronchi.

Why would they bring in someone new and then play or test him in a few matches to see if he can bat well when they can have Langer wicket-keeping for them and also scoring runs as well as any REGULAR batsman?

Brad Haddin and Wade Seccombe are the backup Australian keepers. Justin Langer is not a wicket keeper, and he never will be a wicket keeper because he is not a wicket keeper and Australia would not bring in a non-wicket keeper to be a wicket keeper in a Test Match.

The selectors may be stupid, but not THAT stupid...

Latest news is that a 13 man squad has been announced for the third test. MacGill and Watson are in at the expense of Lee.

Some interesting decisions, but I'm glad to see Shane Watson being given some reward for some very good first class performances.

Seems that the selectors have bitten the bullet and acknowledged that he definitely will not play the third test, so this is the only way to give him some match practice. Oh, WA I fear for you...

Watson's still not even ready for ODI's. He proved that in the mini-series Vs. NZ.
Been through this - Watson is a far better player in the longer version.

I find it interesting that Katich was left out of a squad of 13, especially with Watson in it. My imagination is running away with me; I'm hoping that Lehmann is dropped and Watson plays as batting cover for him and an extra seam bowling option. You couldn't do worse than Lehmann at the moment for batting, so if you get a bowler out of it as bonus, why not? :D

At least MacGill has been picked. He hasnt been in the team since he refused to go to Zimbabwe.
