Otago's campaign for the State Shield is pretty much over now. If N.D defeat Wellington tommorow, then I think we've found our top #3.

yeh, although they should have had them two down fairly early, with a plumb LBW off Mills bowling. Fulton was therefore lucky. Current score: 65/3

i think nevins foot clearly touched the rope

I was planning to go down to Queens Park after work to watch Otago's run chase...

Bryce (or anyone who happens to know), what's happened to Bruce Martin??? He was only meant to be out for a couple of games with his sprained ankle and a month later, still no sign of him. Personally I'd like him to be playing so ND have plenty of specialist bowlers and Yovich can play just as a batsman.
yeah it's weird, there's always news that he will be playing but then he gets another niggle again so i'm not completely sure aye - probaly might miss a few more rounds with vettori supposedly coming back, yovich is a bit of a hit or miss but his batting can be quite reliable when the top order falls over

the way its shaping up it looks like a C.D V Cant final like last year
pretty bold to leave out ND, especially when come finals time(providing they make it) they will be fielding a side looking something like this,

J.Marshall
D.Vettori*(4)
A.Evans
S.Styris(3)
H.Marshall
M.Hart
J.Yovich(5)
M.Orchard(6)
P.McGlashan+
G.Aldridge(2)
D.Tuffey(1)

Can anyone explain to me why ND have a 30 year old Glamorgan reject with first class average of 27 in their team?

Southern man,

You'll be glad to see Sean Eathorne and Craig Smith in for the last two matches, replacing our man Andrew Hore and David Sewell?

I am an ND supporter

However it was nice to see Fleming give them a good old tonking. Hopefully they will get up and running again soon.

And what is up with Tuffey since the 1st ODI against the World XI? He must have great calves at the moment, as he continually does squat.

Same question I've been wondering about. He has scored a 50 but his strike rate was low and other than that he has done very little. I think ND would be better off bring Flynn, Watling or Wilson into the side as they have plenty of years ahead of them.

Im stoaked, wish it had happened earlier.

Got a text from my mate last night, when he found out. I just hope they both play.

They are both alot more talented than Hore and Sewell currently are, But a good stage to make their debut on. TV game plus playing against a very powerful Canterbury.

If Sean gets a bowl, watch for a ''different'' action.

he had a monster of a time at the recent 'A' tournament - the leading run-scorer IIRC so he earnt his place and hasn't done too much wrong so far

aboslutely magnificent effort by scott styris to smack 96 off 57 balls to surpass the D/L target of 164 in 20 overs and play an essential part in seeing ND home and getting them into the finals

also special mention to peter mcglashan...
ND needed 5 to win off the last 2 balls, off the 2nd to last ball styris is dismissed for 96 - 5 to win off the last ball, mcglashan hits his first and only ball for 6 !
