peter cairns is also south african and bj watling was born there - they are also three of our most promising batsman lol

Yeah Peter Cairns looks like a phenomenal batsman. His record at Kings College was unbelievable.

I suppose this is going to be the norm in Countries like England, NZ, Australia etc now. We're going to see alot of players change their nationalities.

Actually make that 4 because Derek De Boorder is also South African! lol.

yeah, mind you there are a ****load of south africans in NZ, what was his record at kings? nd under 17 batsman nick fitzgerald averaged 95 for my old school over a whole season - expect to see him in ND next year(he is also a very good keeper)

Well they've probably got passports for both Countries. I guess the NZC will be hoping that all the training etc they've given them will convince the players to play for NZ.

I think Peter-John Cairns got 2 unbeaten centuries & a not-out 90 last year in the Gillette Cup finals.

It's good to see talent in NZ because currently that's all we're lacking. NZ have always been good at fielding & playing as a team..we now just need genuine talent.

The unfortunate thing is that Cachopa, Cairns & De Boorder all hail from Auckland..where as we know, they struggle to develop their youth properly.

C.D & Canterbury seem to be the best at it.

Hayden Shaw was getting loads of inswing, good to see a NZ bowler who can actually get the seam straight...if he could add another 10 km/h he could be a handful - particularly with a good yorker.

For once Ive been agreeing with the commentators where theyve been saying that Auckland are either blocking or slogging. Mills has been Aucklands most consistent "batsman" this year because hes been turning the good balls into singles as well as hitting boundaries

State Vice-Captain
Yeah, usually I bag Mills at every opportunity, but I cant find a reason at the moment.
Except his hairstyle

currrent scores:
Auckland - 115/3 Canning on 35* and Nicol on 38* versus Canterbury
CD 149/3 Spearman on 72*, Wilson has two wickets for Otago.

State Vice-Captain
Superb catch by McMillan to get rid of Nicol

On a different note, its nice to see a game played on a big ground without the boundaries being pulled in.

Bryce (or anyone who happens to know), what's happened to Bruce Martin??? He was only meant to be out for a couple of games with his sprained ankle and a month later, still no sign of him. Personally I'd like him to be playing so ND have plenty of specialist bowlers and Yovich can play just as a batsman.
