I was staggered by Marshall's innings last night. When he walked out I said to a mate "nah, Marshall's sh** on slow pitches like this."

Then he started off with two 4's down the ground, and basically rammed it home to me that he's more than just dinky deflections. I guess in my defence his record against domestic spinners is still poor, and there was no Warne or Murali last night.
If Oram feels no discomfort while batting and gets in some hours at the crease for CD, his ton at the Gabba and test ave of 44 should make him automatic IMO. Regardless of whether it suits the order, it would still seem like a nonsense to me if Oram missed out and either Sinclair or Styris (guys who look uncomfortable against AUS 9 times out of 10) made it.
Just thinking about it, I wonder if the selectors will raise Marshall's name when they talk about Rigor's replacement. The potential middle-order is so congested that he may be told exactly what Sinclair and Vincent were - that the only vancancy is as a makeshift opener.
