I'd rather have two Marshalls and drop sinclair from this current one-day side. James is very very similar to Hamish (not only in looks). Nudges at close to a run a ball and runs quickly between wickets. When will the selectors learn that Sinclair is NOT a oneday cricketer?
Sinclair seems to be a Braces favourite like Kyle Mills

Don't worry, marc's not exactly known for his happy nature nor his ability to laugh things off, but you get used to him... sort of. :p
And what's that supposed to mean?

All I want to know is what is so funny about throwing things at a sportsman, because I can't for the life of me see anything funny about it.

Neither can I. I was at the stadium last night, and I was a little embarrassed about the crowd's behaviour. In saying that, though, I believe it wasn't quite as bad as it has been in the past, and not nearly as bad as it can get near the terraces at Eden Park.

But, yeah... I'm with you, Marc - I don't see any logic in such stupid behaviour. That sort of carry-on, plus the high number of yellow seats that didn't have bums on them, won't do Wellingtonians any favours when future tour schedules are being considered.

Not in this context, no, but it CAN be funny. Seeing Kevin Sheedy being pelted with marshmallows might be one of the funniest things I've ever seen in an AFL match. Essendon supporters may not agree. :)

Back to the game though - I just saw the replay of Gilchrist's stumping of McMillan off McGrath - incredible work! Haven't seen anyone comment on it up to this point.

Yes, very sharp stumping but not sure what McMillan was doing charging down the pitch when the keeper was supposed to be there to prevent him from doing that. He fell right into that trap. But that's Macca for ya. Infuriating player for us, he was going so well till then.

Sinclair had to be given a chance in this series, because simply he performed well enough for the selectors to not to ignore him.

With all due respect to the Australian players & their safety, they cannot really complain considering what has gone on at the SCG & especially Melbourne before.

I remember when I went to the MCG in 2001, they had to stop a match for 20 minutes after Mark Richardson had various items thrown at him.
And I think some 8 years ago I recall Shane Warne having to calm Bay 13 down during a match against England.

Obviously things will get intense & heated at times in this series, hopefully we won't see the same scenes again on the tour.

Richardson wore a helmet on the boundary didn't he?

I understand that ball was clocked at about 135kmh - an incredibly snappy bit of work.
