Did you see Ross Taylor play State Champ or State Shield?
Yes. He is a very talented young player. Im sure he will play for New Zealand in years to come. Although I wouldn't bring him into the side yet, maybe give it another year.

Jesse Ryder is also a very talented young guy, im also sure he will play for us in years to come.

yeah i did see him play.. i thought he was one of the best players there was...

the only reason i would not put him in the team is maybe hes a bit young..

Where is Butler? English club cricket?

I'm not a fan of his, but I think we need a new fast bowler in the third test.
Mason/Mills, more of the same. (Why pick Mills in your squad when Bracewell isn't that keen on using him?).

A Butler in this test would be better than an underperforming Tuffey. If he bowls with a good line, and an OK length, he'd trouble the batsman on this pitch. Hit the seem, take advantage of the variable bounce - he would be an asset for Fleming atm.

i didnt say we cant win.. but i say that if u go in to a test u need to win.. u SHOULD have a full strenth team.. oram is a allrounder.. we have BETTER batters than him .. and even if we got a better batter i still think we are missing 1 bowler without him..

Adams is not that bad in tests (Hes only been tried for nz once).. and neither is harris..

The bowling is DEFINATLY the lowest point in the nz team at the moment.. so to have a allrounder playing only batter to me seems a bit stupid..
i find it hard to understand why NZ went in with only 3 frontline fast bowlers at headingly especially considering that one is barely fit and another is injury prone. i would have definetly dropped oram and picked a specialist bowler....the batting is long enough as it is.

i agree with the above 2 posts when thinking about it..

Oram out for butler would have been a good move..
Or Oram for another All Rounder...

But yeah :P

so Fleming to open with Richardson for the 3rd Test & Sinclair to come in for Papps (I don't see the point in McMillan batting when recovering from a broken finger)
Mingster said:
Anzac, Papps will bat in the second innings and is available for the next Test.
Anzac's point is still valid because he is still off today I think (Mills is on at the moment) so I think that he won't be allowed to open.

I don't know whether you were into cricket when Butcher got 173* against Australia but to me, that showed what he has to offer England as a cricketing prospect.
Although he the series was over when he made that innings. As good as it was, I'm sure it would have been much better had it been in the 3rd Test.

NZ's attack is utterly worthless. Really bad bowling.

Prediction: England get a lead of 50-100, and knock off NZ for around 250-300. Day 5, last session, sees an England win.

You saying Australia weren't trying? 8-)

Of course not, and where did I say that?

You like Marc seem to put go off and make assumptions without me saying something.

A big score when you have the chance to keep the series alive looks a lot better then when the series is over.

82.3 Martin to Flintoff, SIX, short ball, goes back and pulls it nicely over long leg for a big SIX

It may 'look' nicer, but he still scored the runs which still shows his potential to be a top-class cricketer.

And if you weren't saying that Australia didn't try then my point still stands. And what relevance does your point mean on the cricket field? If the Aussies were trying then the end of series means nothing.

(Plus this is the first time I've said anything about your posts so 'preciate the sweeping generalisation. :))

as i said earlyer.. i dont know why tuffy and martin are there..

we all know they are not new zealands best bowlers.. yet they are in the game as the 2 strike bowlers.. yet they are bowling like complete crap (just like they did in the first test)

tuffy is doing a bit better than martin.. martin is just.. all over the place

It was dead rubber though. Apart from the recent sri lanka series they've been known for losing it a bit, like they don't care. Doesn't explain the quality of butcher's knock though.
