Only for short periods of time, then comes the ******** shot or a very good ball which is too good.Oh yeah Athlai, we have done far better than expected, mainly with the ball. Our batting has looked promising for mine. Our batsmen definitely seem to be able to cope against good bowlers and get through tough periods when they first come to the crease. They are getting starts but not going on with it, but I think that will come with more test experience. I'm actually looking forward to the West Indies series, I think we can do well.
Either it is the flat pitch, or he has turned the corner in terms of batting in test matches. I hope for NZ's sake it is the latter..he definitely is looking more confident. So in other words he'll only score runs at Napier this summer?
*sigh*

Yeah..thats what I said straight after the bit you bolded.Only for short periods of time, then comes the ******** shot or a very good ball which is too good.
Ah..yeah right true. Hey, I'm half asleep.Yeah..thats what I said straight after the bit you bolded.
A little banter is fine. When the commentators completely ignore a batsman hitting a 4 for instance, that isn't.Have to say I've noticed a bit of it - but after listening to the nonsense served up by Bruce Yardley and friends in the Bangladesh series, I'd happily rather hear cricket related banter, even if its a little off topic from the test, from the Channel Nine team. And to be fair, you can't expect to analyse every delivery in depth, it'd just get tedious. A little humour or banter between the commentators is entertainment, and thats part of the Channel Nine package.
Yet in the last 8 years....Yeah, but there are maaaany having averages less than 30, which is considered decent.

Modified list (more than 10 wickets)
Yeah, agreed.Oh has anyone else noticed that the Channel 9 commentators hardly ever seem to do any commentating. They'll just take 5 minute breaks from the game to fart on to each other about their agonisingly uninteresting anecdotes, and just completely ignore what's going on, out on the park. Then eventually, presumably because some hopelessly depressed broadcaster pokes them with a stick, they'll wake up and make some incredibly insightful comment like "Well Australia will probably be wanting to extend their lead over New Zealand." Leaving aside for a moment their extraordinary bias, I don't honestly know if there is a worse team going around, purely in terms of actual commentating.
Radio ones only. David Trist=gun.I want Kiwi commentators.
