this is a 300 pitch though, i can see the Aussies cantering home like England the other day
1. Sorry LE, whilst I agree that ODIs have little do to with Tests, identifying and capitalising on weaknesses is a touch different to giving away wickets as the Aus have done all summer..luckyeddie said:A few thoughts of someone who knows a bit about cricket
1. England's top order look to have performed about the same as Australia's, and a one-day international series has nothing to do with the Ashes
2. Any side thinking about playing 7 batsmen is a side chasing draws. Any side thinking about dropping Gillespie and replacing him with another batsman is in fact thinking about going in with 8 batsmen and not 7. They don't allow Supersubs in tests (ICC to pick that one up in 5....4....3....)
3. 33-5 wasn't 'game over' the other day. Plenty said it was, I said it wasn't. I was right. What a surprise. 'Should' means nothing in cricket.
Poor comment.PY said:Crap. Jones need to hit the 30s I reckon for England to be competitive. Why did he have to go for what sounds like a smear? Stick to your strengths my friend....
That was posted after Freddie's dismissal and was aimed at him. Should have read "Jones needs to hit 30" which in my book he did.luckyeddie said:Poor comment.
Jones did far, far better than many else would have. If Freddie hadn't have gone fror broke against Brett, he would have continued to nurdle and only really attack the bad balls. When Flintoff went, he was basically forced into it for the last couple of overs.
I was actually screaming (mentally) at Flintoff not to take Brett on - I reckon he could have destroyed McGrath who was basically rubbish at the end - but that's not really his forte.
Like I always say, what's sauce for the goose is most definitely sauce for the ducksocial said:1. Sorry LE, whilst I agree that ODIs have little do to with Tests, identifying and capitalising on weaknesses is a touch different to giving away wickets as the Aus have done all summer..

Think that affects what you had to say.
No, I just fancied making you think that I hadn't read your comment thoroughly enough and then related it to your previous one.PY said:
Yeah, the scary thing is though, I wouldn't mind one. Imagine having one and someone visited that you didn't like came over and you could put on O'Keefe's laugh for 2 hours - they'd be sure to leave.Slow Love™ said:LOL, that memorabilia parody with Squires, MacGill and O'Keefe just now was priceless....
They're just being sarcastic mateKing_Ponting said:What i dont understand is all this talk that macgill and squires make about mac gill making a B I G impact in england for the ashes. I mean come on guys the blokes going to struggle to get a game
