Confusion reigns.

Hogg has replaced Hayden and Hayden is a replacement fielder for Watson. That means Hayden can't bowl - he may be needed at this rate... :cool:

But Australia could have used another sub fielder in place of Hayden who's now sub fielder who probably would have been a better sub fielder than Hayden.

Hayden is regular first slip. The other options were Haddin, Katich and Kasprowicz.

Ponting just letting it go here, really. Admittedly, it's hard to see what he can do. England need under 100 with 9 wickets in hand, plenty of overs remaining and the pitch offering little assistance.

Most English pitches don't offer much assistance if you keep bowling it half way down.

Well he was bowling Hogg and Symonds, so obviously they weren't bowling it "halfway down".
