Resuming the match the next day would actually be a better idea...because the pitch isn't going to be the same either day if it rains. Atleast you don't have pressure that wasn't cause by you on your shoulder. India first had to go at 5 runs an over at the start of the inning. You go out there with that mental status that you are going to score 5 runs an over...suddenly you are asked to score 7 runs an over in half the overs...that is not good for your mental fitness.

Atleast when you go in the next day you will face the same amount of overs, and the same run rate.

Second that. I feel bad for the team when they get to practice tomorrow in front of Greg.
Come to think of it, it really wasnt all that bad you know.

See,

- Sachin had scored 141 no in the last game, he was due for a failure. He still averages 153 in this tournament you know !

- Dravid is not an opening batsman as we all know. This was an experiment and as with all experiments success and failure are not that important. We can always give up or try yet another experiment , right?

- Pathan is a lower order batsman. At number three its a bit of a lottery and we won the lottery just two days ago. Dont be greedy guys.

- Sehwag was unfortunate to be run out going for a third run. It happens

- Yuvraj is just coming back from injury and got a beauty before he could settle down.

No,no. This was nothing to lose sleep over.

I lost sleep over WI vs India and I was happy cause I got to see Sachins great inning. But this game...eh not sure.

I seriously hope Dravid gets back in his senses and goes back to number three and let Sehwag open. We all know Sehwag and Tendulkar have been one of the most successful Indian opening partnership in ODI

I wanna hit D&L it's so stupid. Why should the chasing team suffer and score more runs because of rain.
Erm, because they've still got the 10 wickets intact so can take more risks?

I hate this...I hate D/L and Australia have won this match
So no doubt you have a far fairer system?

How about awarding every game to India when there's a rain break?

How about finishing the game up the next day. There shouldve been reserve days in this series just like there were in Sri Lanka

but this D/L is still stupid you gotta admit...why should a team score more runs due to rain..its not fair.
Why should they be given 10 wickets in 25 overs to score half the runs the opposition had 10 wickets for 50 overs?

And then the entire series would've had to have been a lot longer and wouldn't have fitted into the International calendar.

And what if there's rain on the reserve day, schedule a reserve day for that?!

If theres rain on the reserve day...Then the result of this match between India and Australia will be the result of that match.

Each game has one day gap between it. That one day couldve been used as the reserve day.

It also doesn't make sense to make the batting team jump from a RR of under 5 to over 6.5
But as it is there are no better systems so we have to stick with what we have.

rain must've never felt this good for IND...Irfan has a real good chance of giving most runs in ODI, dravid just needs to let him finish his 10 overs, so the world gets to see a new record set. If IND does not redeem themselves in the last 2 matches, they really don't deserve any more help from rain.

Regarding Pathan i wonder if he'll play the next match now.
He's in the team as a bowler and he's so far bowled 6 pathetic overs in 2 matches. If he's in as a bowler surely he should be getting more overs or if captain's lost faith in his bowlign than why pick him at all.
He was wondeful at least in ODI last season but he's been pretty bad for past 6 or 7 matches so maybe time for Pathan to take rest... he needs go back and learn to bowl again because it seems he's forgotton how to bowl.
