Around the mid 80s in mph, 140+ kph. Not Lee pace or anything, but certainly sharp enough to cause problems. There wasn't anything really menacing about any of the wicket balls except for the one that bowled Pathan, but he was putting the ball in the right place and keeping pressure on the new batsmen, which is a sign of real class. He's already shown that he can swing the new and old ball plenty, so things are looking up.

As we've both said before, there's a lot to like - tall, bounce, left-handed, swing.

Just wish he'd get rid of that feral ring thru the bottom lip - guy must be a Collingwood supporter.

I doubt there will be any play now. Points shared. I agree with the arguement you guys are putting up that a couple of wickets weren't due to going for big shot...but this D/L is still stupid you gotta admit...why should a team score more runs due to rain..its not fair.

None of Johnson's wicket-taking deliveries were jaffas and only the one to Pathan was special really. More about ******** batting from the Indians. Dravid and Tendulkar - great technique my ***. By the way, I really like this Johnson. Saying it again, Gillespie's got competition for the Ashes.

What's going on here? I check the scorecard one minute and India are 12-0. come back and it's 35-5!!

Quick runs needed, bad batting, quick consistent bowling, helpful conditions = Johnson 4-for. :D

Tendulkar and Yuvraj balls were very good.

Both had great length but one was an away slant (Tendy) and the other an outswinger.

Maybe it's just me but I dont think Dravid is that good against Aus whilst Yuvraj looks very iffy against pace - never gets behind it al all.

There's a ring through the bottom lip?! How on earth does he fit in with the rest of the 'I have my 3.4 kids and the wife it's all I ever wanted' Aussie team? Good on him - spicing up the baggy greens a little.

That ball to Yuvraj was pretty good but Dravid handed his wicket to him. The ball to Tendulkar wasn't that great either but don't know pathan was thinking tho to go out to that ball. There wasn't any movement or anything

They were good balls but not very good. Tendulkar's shot was horrific, feet planted and all. Same with Dravid. Yuvraj's delivery was pretty good too. The run-out was pathetic.

Aside from being MOTS in 2003 when India toured Aust. and from that daggone partnership with Laxman he hasn't done much really hey 8-)

The Pathan ball was sensational. It was the best of the lot for mine, absolutely perfect delivery to a new batsman. Shaped away slightly, hit the top of off stump.

Doesn't matter that much though. A relatively small percentage of wickets come from deliveries that are genuinely unplayable, it's about being consistent as much as anything else.

na i think what he meant was.... Dravid doesn't play that well against Aus when McGrath's in the team.
