*Official* India v West Indies Tests & ODIs

Yeah these big games... I wouldnt miss it for the world if I were in India.

Damn dd doesnt air free highlights for this match :(

HUGE test for the batsmen. No Sachin, no Saurav, and a 300+ target.

Rahul's captaincy stood exposed in my opinion. It wasnt worse because of the opening spell of 13 overs by Srinath and Ajit.

But let's see if they can make it.

Kaif is due :) Sehwag can solve a few problems for us if he gets going.

The guys that must do it:

Sehwag, Dravid, Kaif, Yuvaraj, Bangar, Laxman.
We have a reasonable tail in Murali Karthik and Agarkar.

Match on !

Congrats to the West Indies.

India were way outbatted, and outbowled today.

Marlon Samuels played the kind of innings that couldnt possibly end up on the losing side. Five sixes and 11 fours. 75 ball hundred, never slowing down.

There was no competiton in the final match.West indies really showed good allround performance, chris gayle didn't do well with the bat but managed to take 3 wickets. :)

yep at one stage India seemed to slow things down through S.Singh 10-0-36-0 and agarkar and Srinath starting of well, but then India never carried on the momentum ,let the game shift away and all was soon over..

If they have a reasonable bowling attack, how come they need to be chasing 300+ so often?
Was it essential to behave like complete clueless ? The matches are being played on dead tracks, and if you had not seen them or read about them, you could atleast have read the previous posts before comming up with such a senseless question! [/quote]

And the lifeless, dead tracks in England and elsewhere - how do you explain those?

I don't see how you can say India have a reasonable attack when they keep conceding these massive scores!

Ever heard of joint favourites?? Like Brazil and Italy were suppose to be joint fav's for the previous soccer WC which Brazil won!
But joint favourites are closely matched - no-one can match this Austrailian side.

And better watch out for your own bowlers(those who aren't at hospital) , even your batters are down and out at the moment:frog:
What's it to do with our bowlers - unless you've noticed we never make grossly inaccurate statements about how we're favourites for the World Cup or the best team in the World etc. - we know our limitations.

They were at home in the triangular series and in the indoor series yet they failed!!
Since then they've got rid of the deadwood from the team and introduced new players who are much better players.

This win by the West Indies indicates the dilemma India are facing.

Its not every day the batting will flourish and end up with large totals. The odds of that happening will decrease further on SA tracks with better bowling oppositions,
the bowling will invariably suffer.

RE all those who are blaming all the evil on the Dead tracks, Pakistan and Australia (specially Pakistan) have performed well on these same dead tracks. And as far as i know the last two tracks have not been exactly 'dead'. The pitches have been offering good bounce and there has been plenty of swing on offer as well. The bowlers have not been 'up' there to get maximum benefit, plus there as been some very good batting on display. Its hopeless if you fail to recognize the problem with the Indian attack at the moment.

Except for 1 or 2 teams, almost every team's bowlers would have gone for runs on these tracks.I never said that Indian attack is its strength, just said that its reasonable, as with Khan,Nath,Kartik,Kumble,Bangar the attack can restric the opponents on pitches which offer them some assistance!

But Marc they lost to Pak with the same team they have now and in one game they lost convincingly.

Thats your opinion, and i don't agree with it, however the main reason as to why i used the word Jt Fav just to tell you that there can be more than 1 favs!!
In test cricket no one can match the Aussies but in Onedayers they are beatenable!

Well if you keep pointing out to the fact that Indian bowlers got hammered in England then obviously there would be some retaliation.
