SJS,
The first one. After Wasim/Waqar/Saqlain/Shoaib, these bowlers are a bit of a disappointment. These bowlers don't possess the magic, the charm, the presence that makes you believe things will happen and keep you on the edge of your seat even if things are going against your team.
That said, poor poor Ganguly. I wonder where he will go from here?
I agree with you. This is the weakest bowling side I have seen coming from Pakistan and I have sen them sice Fazal Mehmood's 1961 side !!!
I said so a few days ago and everyone jumped on me .
But having said that, look how they performed as a team. They have managed to put India under pressure. I think India have paid for what might be termed a bit of arrogance as far as their own batting abilities are concerned.
Even this morning, while Sehwag was okay to medium pacers, playing quite soberly, he seemed very upset at the persistent close in field employed by Kaneria, as if it was an insult to him and played a couple of terrible strokes. He was lucky to survive.
So while Pakistan has a weak attack compared to their illustrious predecessors, India have grossly under rated them.
Look at how Sachin got out twice to Afridi. Once chasing a near wide short pitched ball and another time slogging at a decent delivery.
Afridi bowls a faster one that is at around 125 kms per hour. The fact that it is so very fast can bamboozle a tail ender like Kumble but any batsman worth his salt can see a faster one which is so very different from his normal delivery.
I think, the difference in the confidence level of the two captains going into the third test made a big impact. And as the match progressed with Inzy getting bi8g runs and Ganguly failing again, the difference in the captains' bearings has affected to two teams in totally opposite manners. Inzemam has been able to rally this side and Ganguly's huddles seem to have fallen apart.
