*Official* India Tour of Australia 2018/19

Senile Sentry

International Debutant
Pretty encouraging for Gill when Manish Pandey, Mayanck Agarwal, Shreyas Iyer could easily have been chosen before him.
Gill has scored over 1000 runs in just 9 Ranji matches this winter.. averaging 78 at a strike rate of 78. And all this playing classical strokes.

The kids a genius

Gill's FC stats look incredible. Very excited to watch this kid. Didn't impress me from the very little I saw of him in the IPL.

Agarwal is not from their generation. But the next Test India play will probably have Shaw/Agarwal opening.

Does Vihari fit in?

If and when Gill makes his mark, he should be an automatic shoe-in, which means it could be between Rahane and Vihari. Vihari deserves more opportunities imo. Rahane has been given a very long rope.

Selectors making good noise over Pant's WC prospects, but MSK Prasad comes across like a typical gladhanding, skinsaving petty bureaucrat.

It is frustrating seeing the lineup India puts up considering the batting talent at hand. Just cannot get myself to accept Rayudu, Dhoni and DK are the best middle order we can put on the field. This middle order is going to get us out of the WC for sure. Hope Gill gets an opportunity in NZ.

Why Indian Selectors are holding back Prithvi Shaw from limited overs.
We have too many top order players already. Rohit and Dhawan are a lock in to open and Kohli is our number 3. Maybe we can try Prithvi at number 4 but not sure we will risk it this close to the WC.
