*Official* India in Australia Thread

About time the play starts.I have been watching the same channle for almost 6 hours waiting for the play to start

One freakin' ball. It surprised me a lot that Steve Waugh didn't just declare before, he was never going to get anything out of Bracken and MacGill, better to get a crack at India straight away.

1 good reason, it gives the ground an extra 15 minutes to dry so the new ball doesn't get so wet....

Of course, but was he ever going to get his last wicket to last 15 minutes on a greentop like that?
Nope! Besides, the way MacGill hit that it didn't look like a guy who was trying to hang around for a while.
Well, if you don't try you'll never know I suppose.

No but it took 5 minutes to get started, 10 seconds for the wicket then a 10 minute change over, so theres your 15 minutes....

Prettygood start by the openers. They looked solid even though the ball was swinging and seaming

If AA bucked up his accuracy he could be potentially onwe heck of a bowler.

That's the thing about him, he's a action cricketer, whether or not he is batting or bowling, something is happening.

Don't discount India yet people. We can finally see some blue sky here in Brisbane, the first time in a long time. If tomorrow is sunny I can see that pitch drying out and becoming a good track like it was late on the first day. But if there is more rain I would worry. I was very pleased with the way the Indian openers started this afternoon, they looked to run the runs 'quickly' something rare for Indians, Chopra got off the mark with a quick single, and Sehwag ran a hard on a first to pick up a two. The need to do this if they want to put up a good fight.

But if there is more rain tomorrow and the Aussies can get some overs in I would worry if I was an Indian supporter, the pitch will be like it was on the second day. This is the only way there wont be a draw IMO.

I dont know why people are surprised at the Aussie total, they always said it was going to be low scoring. Of course, I'd reckon that 323 isnt a bad 'low score' :D
I wont mention how mad I was at Steve Waugh *sigh*

This thread is outrageous, 45 odd pages for the equivilent of one days play in the first test... hows it gunna be in the 4th?

One more thing: I. HATE. RAIN.

Can we have some in Sri Lanka, please, Linda?

Like now, quickly. Don't hang about.

Oh, re the number of posts.
It's always cheaper to get in on the terraces rather than the posh seats.

Even by Australia's standards, they'd have to absolutely blow India out of the water in the next 2 days.

I agree that it will probably be a draw, but if we were to get two full rain free days (as is being predicted) I believe Steve Waugh will lead the team aggressively, and we may still end up with an interesting game.

If Australia can dismiss India for under 250, they will probably go for some big hitting and a declaration that will give the Indians a sniff.

I'm looking forward to it.

I read in Yahoo Weather that there will be Isolated Thunderstorms tomorrow :( . But if it is rainfree then IMO then you cannot rule out an Aus win as the pitch is really helping the bowlers.

Marc , Im gonna join the AAAS aswell , very impressed by him in this match , he has generally bowled better than his figures suggest.

A very erratic start from the Aussie bowlers..especially Bichel.
I think they were expecting it to swing, but there's hardly been any movement...the only chance today was a sitter to Martyn at 3rd slip, which he dropped.

I like the way the Indians are batting, they're putting away all the bad balls.

The plot thickens , 2-62 , Dravid & Sehwag gone in quick succesion to edges , SRT in to face the music.
