*Official* India in Australia Thread

White cleaned up three tailenders. Yay. :P

Mr Wright, are you sure it was always today? Everything I read about it said Tuesday 25th.

merely stating that if Katich goes, and it was between Clarke and Love for a number 6 spot, he would stand a more reasonable chance of playing than he does now.
Isn't Lehmann also challenging (when fit?)

Well you'd think Williams & Bracken are likely to make the 1st test team considering McGrath is definately out for the first 2 tests & Lee will be struggling to make the 1st test.
Only 1 spot for grabs though (Gillespie, Bichel)

Yes.

Ganguly practicing some test match mind games perhaps?:

India have delcared over night and we have a 10 minute delay to start because the umpires were not informed and the wicket has to be rolled players waiting impatiently at the boundary as the roller works away

I heard on the radio that the team may be announced tomorrow now, so the selectors can watch the first day of S.A. v Qld in the Pura Cup. But, I'm pretty sure the team will be named today.

Hmm well it cant really be today then, itd be after 6 over east by now.
The only thing I can find is "likely" squad. How I hate them.

'Steve Waugh (c), Ricky Ponting (vc), Matthew Hayden, Justin Langer, Damien Martyn, Simon Katich, Adam Gilchrist, Andy Bichel, Jason Gillespie, Stuart MacGill, Nathan Bracken, Brad Williams.'

Victoria 348/5 (90.0 ov)
Lead by 82 runs at stumps..

jesus they are making a mockery of a "world class" indian bowling attack..

( note the heavy sarcasm )

This is afterall India's first tour match and generally most sides seem to play well below par in warm-up matches but for some reason I don't expect India to go much better than this when they actually face up against Australia.

For all that has been said about Harbhajan Singh, is he really that great? sure he stunned Australia in 2001 but that was on a couple of rank turners & generally outside of India his stats are very average compared to other world class spinners operating.
The Indian selectors missed a trick by not selecting Kartik, but I think with all the controversy going on at the moment..there could be question marks over whether he's been a victim of foul play also.

Can India survive this tour if Tendulkar fails to fire?..the answer is no, once again Tendulkar saved India from being bundled out for less than 200 in that match against Victoria & if he can't inspire the others against Australia then its odds on that we'll see a few batting collapses.

For sure Kartik would have played a key role for India..
but indias bowling attack has to use the pace and bouncy conditions and use them well...

he doesnt rely on spin much mate , well he does but he can bowl with control like daniel vettori..

and over the years left armers eg Daniel and recently ray price of zim have been sucessful against Australian batsmen in australia

and karthik was bowling really well against australians in india with good control.. i doubt if he would get hammered as you mention..

Another ripper from Hookesy.. Something like
"That's H-O-D-G-E, Bradley" (talking to David Boon). He said something else as well about the selectors but I can't for the life of me find it now.
