This partnership has saved India. Its already 96* . Good to see Ramesh starting well on this tour after all that has been said about his footwork.

It'll be interesting to see what the Indian team does should Chopra fail in the warm-up matches & Ramesh does well.

Wright & Ganguly should really select Chopra for the 1st test on the basis of his good form against NZ in the 2 match series last month....but it could still be a close call with Ramesh.

I'm 6ft 3".

I fully expect Ramesh to play in the first Test. I know it's still very early in the tour, but CricInfo seems to suggest that he's coped nicely with the conditions.

I also tip Sachin to get a big hundred.

I agree, India cannot afford to be soft in their selections. They have to understand that they need to be strong right from the start, and if Ramesh is showing good form they must play him.

The only problem for the Indians is that they are playing understrenthed state sides, so it is hard to judge form. But it is good to see the players doing well in the Aussie conditions (so far).

I really hope that India don't rely heavily on Tendulkar in this series...that always seems to be the case in test series outside of India.

And if Ganguly has a poor run of form, what do the team selectors do about him?

Well this could be a 'make or break' series for Parthiv, he's played quite a few matches in England, NZ, India & soon Australia so he should be getting a good feel for international cricket.

He's extremely tiny for an 18 year old though and because of that he probably gets intimidated by some of the bigger men charging in to bowl at him.

Taibu is tiny...

I think make or break is a wee bit harsh. He's got the goods and he's still really young, I'd say it's more 'make or stall'.

Personally, I think if Parthiv's batting has any merit to it, like people say, he's got a good chance of sticking it up the Aussies. He's got no mental scars, and as he is still young and inexperienced, he's probably never faced anything like the Aussie bowling assault. That could work in his favour if he's *slightly* overconfident (paraphrased: more confident than he might be with more experience) because of his youth and inexperience. He could come in with the right mindframe.

That could quickly change however if he sees his side being dismantled to be for example 90/5...the chances are that he won't last very long either.

In all likelihood, yeah you're right, but I'm interested in seeing how he goes. Especially against Inness, it would be good to see how he plays him, Inness is by far Victoria's best bowler.

Im interested to see that Inness has only played 17 OD's with a bowling average of 50+...for a player with such a good FC bowling average, that seems a little strange..anyone know anything more about this?
