*Official* India in Australia Thread

Once again Virender Sehwag has failed to impress. They're supposed to be f***ing saving the match not smacking the ball around. This Sehwag guy is a one trick pony.

No he hasn't. India are quite rightly (although with no help from Sehwag) blocking out this match.

Indians 266/9d & 52/1 (16.4 ov)
Victoria 518/8d

Batsmen:
A Chopra 12
S Ramesh 18

means aakash chopra and ramesh are playing well? I think if tendulkar comes out at this time,he would be in a mood to hit the ball with so little time left

Who knows? I'm not an expert on the psychology of Tendulkar, so I suppose he could go either way for all I know. I suppose he'd be looking for any useful practice he could get before the series starts without endangering his wicket too much.

y not dravid? i think he should come first. ganguly will never improve atleast on australian pitches. he is hopeless. Its just that india will be playing with 10 players in the test match

I assumed everyone knew that Dravid was listed at 4 and Tendulkar at 5 and therefore he would come in ahead of Tendulkar anyway. Ganguly and Patel are listed at 6 & 7 respectively and therefore it would be beneficial for them to come in ahead of Tendlukar. Dravid should be the next batsman in, if another wicket falls.

It appears as though Chopra & Ramesh are fighting for 1 opening position, while Sehwag is the automatic choice.

However after the form showen in this match, you would have to wonder whether Sehwag is going to rely on his supposed reputation to get into the 1st test team.

Sehwag is quite a good player...but only on small grounds where he can play aggressive strokes & get away with it..im not so sure he will be able to do that at the SCG, MCG etc.

I don't see why you would take Tendulkar out of his spot - 4.

I wasn't talking about the test match, I was talking about the tour game. Tendullkar got 80 in the first dig and Ganguly got 2 and Patel an unconvincing 50* so they obviously needed more practice than the great one.

I don't think that matters an awful lot. If the players who need it are devoid of their necessary match practice then the order doesn't matter, they'll still face an uphill battle. The ones who need it should get in first - after all, that's what that Vic vs Ind game turned out to be; a giant freakin' net session.

Go hodgey.

What little chance I thought India had before this game is now even smaller. 2-1 win? Don't make me laugh.

put it this way Neil "Pickup" -- I can't see India being any worse than England.

At least India did not come out to Australia with grandiose statements about how good their pace attack were when the truth weas quite different --
well Australia showed the lack of quality in bowlers like Caddick, Hoggard and Harmison were.

I can't remember England trumpeting about how good their pace attack was. That might have something to do with us missing Gough and having 2 innexperianced pacers in Jones and Harmison.

England outplayed India in England and were unlucky to loose with a weakened squad in India, so I'd say it's pretty equal. England probably just the tiniest bit ahead because of how the batsmen took the Young Indian pace attack we kept being told were the new hope for India, to the cleaners.

Neil Pickup is his name so don't know what the "" things are all about.

You'll never find English people bragging about our teams purely because it's all gone wrong so many times. The only people who talk England up are our media who have to write sensationalistic crap to get the attention of people who don't have the brains to see through it.

Most England fans know we lack consistency to become a world force at the moment. Simple as that. :)
