Surely Bucknor deserves more respect than that!
As Jono said, I was just kidding. Bucknor hasn't had the greatest series, but he's still one of the best umpires in the world.

If this is how OZ plays the Indian spinners, then what about the Lanka tour. Murali will haunt them to death! once again bring back Bevan at least he tries.

It seems the Aussies practise batting against a baseball pitching machine, they can't even read a single Indian spinner. Australia will be lucky to score 250 runs today. Bring back Michael Bevan!!
I'd LOVE to see Michael Bevan come back into this test team upon Waugh's retirement - not that it will ever happen. Imagine the stability he'd give to that middle order.

On The Cricket Show they are showing a flashback of SA vs. Australia, last day run chase. What an effort South Africa put up this is entertaining stuff and who would of thought Craig McDermott would almost win it for them.

I loved Cronje back then :(

Bevan is a good player of spin bowling, he has played well against Indian spin in India, he may not be hitting consecutive boundaries but he shows control and remains steady thru out.

Did you know Michael Bevan will be there for the Test Tour of India in 2004. no kidding Bevan will be playing his first test series after ages...he impressed the selectors in the TVS tournament a few weeks back

I reckon Bevan as the best , stylish australian batsman( far,far better than Ponting) .If he had been given more chances , then sure he'd have become one among the first 3 top batsmen in the world ...but y he is kept outside??

Whereas I agree that the second one looked plumb, your language leaves you open to utter contempt. The reason we have an obscenity filter is for the likes of you.
Always nice to hear words of wisdom from you lucky eddie

i was just ****ed (i know this is going to be filtered) about it. We have got a good match on and the last thing we need is wrong decisions. I was watching it on TV and the second one looked plumb even to me, so I don't know how Bucknor missed that. Anyway he's out now.......

Well thats going a lil overboard, Bevan is okay in tests, he has a big problem against short pitched deliveries, I mean a BIG problem kindaa like Indian skipper Ganguly.

He's good with the ball too, I think Bevan has an 8 wkt haul in test cricket. I think Australia needs another Mark Waugh, perhaps Clarke will mature as one...fingers crossed. The Lanka tour is gonna be a disaster.

Aussie tour of India in 2004 will be great although India'll be the hot favorites.

I think Bevan just had a bad run, and got terrorized by a very good attack. It's happened to quality batsmen before.

He excels at the four day game, and gets plenty of short stuff. I'm not sure whether he ever really had a problem in "general", but if he did, I'm sure it's sorted out now.

Either way, obviously, he wouldn't have to deal with that on the subcontinent.

It was a six wicket haul. It ended up being 10 for the match, though. Or was it 11?

Forget such technical things of the past. It can be worked out if he applies himself a liitle more. Saurav was not able flick off his pads during his first 2-3 years, then he practiced it, and now he he can even hit 4s on the legside :D (not the pull and hook which he plays exceptionally well now a days.)

Yep and Jerzy Dudek will be named the world's greatest goalkeeper and I will come off the bench for Inter on Wednesday :D

Bevan has no chance.

For First time in life i HOPE INDIA LOSE a match the only then will every one look into the poor umpiring decision in this match.Come on man if u cannot do things right u dont have any right to be there .i think so far in this series there have been 22 bad decision aganist india and 15 aganist australia. and that is too much ina 4 test series .bring on technology then we atleast dont have to blame human beings

Craig, don't you think he deserves another chance. Any other country would relish having him intheir lineup, simply because of his limited overs accomplishments.

Trevor Hohns has already said that Bevan will very likely be touring India in 2004!

No because he has had his chances and didnt take them.

You cant compare one-day to Test cricket.

Craig,

I guess you know more about test cricket than I do. I've just turned 17! I feel the weakest link in the batting lineup is between Ponting and Gilchrist. I think this needs to be replaced with Clarke, Lehmann, and Katich but Bevan is equally good.

Whom would you have in your squad for the Lanka series?

PS. another plus pt in having Bevan is the experience he has. He's bin a match winner everywhere, everytime, home or away, league games or world cup. Ask the Indians, they fear him.

Wow, did he really say this?

Craig: The same could have been said (he had his chances but didn't take them) of Langer, Hayden and Martyn. And look at them now.
