Yeah, they're getting eerily closer to the follow-on mark. :OPratyush said:Katich reaches highest test score.. I hope Gillespie doesnt beat his own highest score.:O
That would very likely be a "NOOOOOOOOOOOO"-moment. :OPratyush said:
What bothers be more is rain and thunderstorm having a 50% chance of occuring tomorrow.
Kumble had the ball a short while ago. The guy deserves a short rest and he won't be used with the new ball anyway... although I don't think it'd be a bad idea to try him with it.Bapu Rao Swami said:73 more runs needed for them to save the foolow on, cmon Kumble, they need to give Kumble the ball now
Kumble is the only one who can take a wkt, at the most one odd delivery by Pathan but then Pathan is no Kapil Dev...by the time Pathan gets a wkt - Australia will only need another 20 runs or so to avoid follow on, I4m sure the BRacken and Dizzy can manage that.Kumble had the ball a short while ago. Full credit to Australia, but i cant help but feel its more down to Poor indian bowling / tactics than great australian batting, although Katich's 100 was a very good one.mavric41 said:Great fightback by Australia, losing only 1 wicket and getting within 60 of the follow on target. Under all that pressure they are still scoring at over 4 runs per over - amazing.

Why are u people worried about India's bowling!!?. If India can make 700/7( patel can score 50s!!!), why can't OZ make 500/7 or even 600/7 , after all they are the WC
U took it seriously!!!???Bapu Rao Swami said:Very true Australia is the world champion but thats in ODIs. Australia is statistically the strongest ODI side of all time but thats not in tests, they're ODI team in comparison is stronger to their test team.
I have to agree with you but i think Ganguly has to take alot of the slack this time, infact i've always considered Ganguly to be one of the worse captins in world cricket. His field placings this series have been diabolical at times. I know they dont want to put extra pressure on others, but surely it would be better for the team as a whole to have someone else take over.Bapu Rao Swami said:This has happened before also with India. We came close to winning our first series abroad in 18 yrs against the WI a few yrs ago until the tailenders of WI shattered our hopes.
The thing is our bowling is kind of mediocre but we have moments of brilliance. Asian teams have always always lacked consistency and the biggest reason is fitness !
Look at the Aussies and South Africans, they're so fit which is why the win games by having a suprior fielding and better consistency. Mohammed Sami of Pak can rip apart many batting lineups, but its in consistency that ppl like Gillespie, McGrath beat him. Srinath and McGrath had the same bounce, same speed infact Srinath was faster, but Srinath's poor fitness was the reason he's way below while McGrath is somewhere up the tree in world cricket. We need guys who're fit, willing to run around and maintain rythem thru out an innings,, we need more ppl like Zaheer Khan, and Rahul Dravid also Sehwag. We're imrpving on that Anderw Leipus is our fitness coach , he has made a big difference which is why in the past two yrs you're seeing a more consistent Indian team.
