Ganguly declared but i kinda feel bad for Sachin he could have broke Laxman's record as the highest inning by an indian and he also had a chace at the world record but by then the match would be a definate draw. Next time Sachin.
I'm sure if anyone asked him, SRT would've said that the team comes before the individual - also with the support left, it's unlikely he'd have got near Hayden.

If they don't bat till after lunch tomorrow, they'll have gotten the follow-on! So India won't bat again, unless it's a small chase later on...
Assuming they bowl them out in range, the follow on is a dead cert?

What if Aus follow on 250 behind and get a 150-170 lead with 2 sessions to go?

I can't believe before the W.C, Nehra was bowling around 135 km's in New Zealand..then when he got to the World Cup he was up near 150 km's and now he's back down to the mid to low 130's.
If you trust the speed guns...

It was interesting to watch the way Langer and Hayden threw their bats at the ball as if there is no tomorrow. If Virender Sehwag is called "reckless" then we should we call Langer "Daft". It was ridiculous to see the openers throw away their wickets in a casual way. Okay. We might argue that those who live by the sword will die by it. But Australia needs to know how to save test matches. Buchanan needs to reprimand Langer and Hayden for their acts.
What do Australia have to gain by playing for a draw? If they draw the series finishes 1-1 and India keep the Border-Gavaskar trophy. Also the people who paid to go to the test don't want to sit through three days of boring cricket.

I'm sure Steve Waugh would not want to be remembered for ordering his batsman to go slow in his final test.

Just heard that steve had asked his man to fight for the draw

Being Indian, my loyalty lies with the Indian side ofcourse. However, faced with a similar situation with India being the chasing side going for 700 runs. India would have from the very start played to salvage a draw.
On the other hand, when I saw the score cards for the Aussie openers. I knew that this was a side willing to put it all on the line to ENFORCE a result.

This could be a one off situation. Yet, I have the utmost respect for the Aussie side for playing the game for a result.

So it's almost obvious that Pathan got the tips from Wasim. Just now in the Gavaskar show, Allan wilkinson hinted to Gavaskar regarding their fellow commentator's(wasim) help and Gavaskar in turn didn't deny it. :) :)

Did anybody notice that Pathan bowled with a roundarm action compared to his normal action to get the reverse swing in the last spell. Wasim Akram seems to like him and is offering him tips too. Very good future if he keeps his discipline:cool2:

1) Brett lee is the second australian bowler who conceded more than 200 runs in an innings !!!!!so cute
Even Patel smashed him all around the park.

2)India is only the second nation to score 700 in Australia..anyone knows which is the first one?

It is very intersting to know that even after having a better bowling attack, none of the aussie bowler have a 5 wicket haul in this series while india is having 3 (Zaheer,AA,Kumble).Probabaly, Kumble may get another one..

No doubt about that. It's an inherent difference in attitude. What is one more win for Australi? Just victory number 42, for Steven Roger Waugh. What is one more win to India? First victory abroad in God knows how many years. On the other hand, what is one more loss to India? Utter dismay considering they were once ahead in this series.

That said, though, India are not in this situations, and assumptions are rarely correct.
