Kent, I'd imagine. Besides, he's even less economical than Simon Jones. (edit: apparently not, hasn't been playing since 22 June, when he bowled one over for 16 against Surrey and was promptly dropped. Weird.)

No way is USA gonna chase 274 on Irish pitches. Denmark by 100 runs. Oman is in with a shout, though, Asoka is standing in their game ;) Reckon they'll lose by 250, in all seriousness. Kamyuka got 4 for 42 against Ireland, promising, but there's no way they're gonna chase 236 to win. 40 short, I'd say. Namibia looked struggling against PNG, game stopped updating at 109 for 4, still think they'll bowl them out for about 100 and win by the same amount. Bermuda have set a tricky 219 for 9 against UAE - could be close, UAE by two wickets. And Scotland by three wickets against Canada, if they conceded 282 against the Burgers I should think Scotland would have little problems even with their fragile batting.
As a Norwegian do you support the Danes? I know there's some history between you, but is there a scandanavian brotherhood?

Ali Asad...he's seriously good. Every time I check a UAE scorecard he's there taking a truckload of wickets. Don't even know what he bowls, though. :D
He's an opening bowler. I *think* he played Pakistani first-class cricket too though I am not too sure.

Oman and PNG also being trounced by Holland and Namibia respectively; USA in trouble against the Danes, and Scotland and UAE making heavy weather of chasing Canada and Bermuda.

If Bermuda beat UAE, that will nicely open up group A for the Danes and if Canada beat Scotland, then Canada are almost 100% through to the World Cup!

UAE in serious trouble .. lost two quick wickets and are now 4 wickets down...
Scotland seem to be going rather slow.

Kinda. To be honest, I care much, much more about England's inexplicable tie today than Denmark increasing their chances of getting to the WC.

Now to check the tips...Uganda got mauled by 130, not 40, Denmark won by 96, not 100 runs (fairly decent!), Namibia won by 98, not 100 (fairly decent again!), UAE crumbled against Bermuda to lose by 30 runs, just increased the Danes' chances, and the Scots won by seven wickets despite being 37 for 3, and the Dutch won by 258, not 250 against Uganda.

Pretty on the money there Sam! You a betting man at all? What with your gift for figures too.

Any tips for the next tranch of matches? The Brumby coffers can always do with a boost! ;)

I lost £15 on football tips from Tuesday to Thursday (dad paid - I'm still under 18 so can't legally put odds bets, which are the funniest ones), so I think today was my lucky day!

I also thought England would be 141 all out today, btw.

Matches are much more even on Monday, though (unfortunately!)

Ireland to thump UAE - 200 runs or 7 wickets (they don't have a top order, but Ed Joyce and Eoin Morgan....what a pair)
Denmark v Bermuda - close game, given Bermuda's form. Which shows how much of a misfit the group is. Denmark by 10 runs or three wickets.
Uganda v USA - Uganda has batting issues, hopefully Clayton Lambert will serve up enough pies to avert that. Kamyuka will have the Yanks for breakfast. Uganda by 30 runs or two wickets.
Netherlands v Namibia - interesting one. Dutchies have the stunning form of Zuiderent and van Bunge, and look strong in the batting department. With the addition of ten Doeschate I think they could be a form in the bowling too. Key will be getting the opening Burger early. Netherlands by 40 or five wickets.
Scotland v Papua New Guinea - mismatch of the year. Scotland have four first-class bowlers and look to have found some batting form, even though Gavin Hamilton is only in the team on past glories (it appears). Scotland by 250 runs or ten wickets.
Oman v Canada - another mismatch, not as blatant as the previous one, though. Oman need to find a spine. Davison to have a bat, hog the strike and smash SD Myles' record for Hong Kong in the ICC Trophy (172), and win by 300 runs or nine wickets if Oman win the toss.

Agree on the majority - but I'm going to back the States to beat Uganda.

On current form, they should beat Namibia and Canada and have a nice match "for the emperor's beard" against the Scots.

Yes I am also getting this feeling that usa will win the match againts uganda simply because they have lost two matches and they are waiting eagerly to come back.

Nah, my feeling's more based on the fact that Uganda are rubbish.

A few crunch matches today:

Netherlands vs. Namibia. Namibia have to win this to qualify for the semi's. The Dutch have made a good start despite the Namibians scoring quickly initially. It's now 47/2 after 9 overs. Dangerman JB Burger back in the pavillion for 29.

Denmark vs. Bermuda. Beforehand a wooden spoon match, but after the first two rounds it means that today's winner has one foot in the WC (yuk). Bermuda scoring slowly so far, at 25/1 off 9.3.

Ireland vs. UAE. The Arabs must win this, but it wil lbe difficult against the Irish. And it's not looking good at 36/2 off 7.5.

Elsewhere, Scotland and Canada should have it easy today, while Uganda vs. USA appears to be of no consequence to the outcome of this Trophy whatsoever. Having said that, Oman is 66/0 off 13.2 against Canada. As a Dutchman, I would really enjoy seeing the Canadians go down today :)
