Ireland 8/315 on the back of an Ed Joyce hundred. I'm tipping them to get to the semis undefeated. Scotland and Holland have just won but Scotland's batting's a bit of a worry.
I think they gave their lower-order hitters a go. IIRC Paul Hoffmann doesn't open in the National League - I think Wright didn't bat, Hamilton made 13* and Lockhart 15*. Their bowling is very solid anyway, with Hoffmann, Blain and Nel.

Namibia require 19 runs from 2 overs with 2 wickets in hand. This one's a beauty. I would have given them no chance to chase 285

Canada hold on and win it by 2 runs! Bowling Namibia out when they had an over left. Disappointing for the Africans, they fought so hard. I love this tournament

Silly, they should have won that. I checked the score in about the 38th or 39th over, and they had about 190 on the board, so they must've scored quickly since then. I guess Swanepoel was trying to get a single to keep the strike in the last over. What's he doing batting at 10, though?

van Bunge maybe?
Yeah Van Bunge is also amongst the best players in this tournament IMO at least.. Who do you guys reckon is the best bowler in this tournament? One of the Burgers?

Paul Hoffmann (Sco), Ryan ten Doeschate (SA/Ned), Ali Asad (UAE), Kamyuka (Uganda), John Blain (Sco), John Davison (Can).

Think that covers it. The Burgers are only effective as a whole ;)

Nothing about the Burgers attacking with relish?

<quack> You git. I cracked that one in WC2003 - the only difference being it was funny then.

Ah yes, the old Burger chipping it away.

Breadcrumb moment - Andries Johannes (Jan-Berrie) Burger (Namibia)

The beefy Burger, his team in a pickle, deciding that the bowling of the Zimbabwean side is to his taste, grills Streak (surely a typo - should be Steak, really) and Olonga with relish. Unfortunately, with a few notable exceptions (15 from one Heath Streak over) it doesn't last long. He'll be panned for the hoik to midwicket which led to his dismissal.

His brother is a vegetarian

<LE> Who's that?

Cranberry Burger

<LE> Says who?

Ali Asad...he's seriously good. Every time I check a UAE scorecard he's there taking a truckload of wickets. Don't even know what he bowls, though. :D

Blain showing how good he is. Got Davison for 11. Canada are 21 for 2 against Scotland, looks like the NL experience is paying off...

Get Billcliff and they're done for - but I think Canada might have done enough in beating Namibia to finish third in their group - the Burgers will now need to upset the Scots or Dutchies.

Joyce b Olwenyi 40. Ireland 133/4 after 35 overs, question is whether they have the batting depth to handle Uganda's bowling (Kamyuka especially)

My estimation of Denmark's gone up a notch. That's not saying much, mind....

Carn the Danes. Klokker's played a great innings. I think it will be too much for the Yanks. Would have been easier to defend if Ajmad Khan were playing. Where is he?

Denmark 273-7 v USA

Ireland 231-8 v Uganda
Bermuda 217-9 v UAE
Canada 189-8 v Scotland

Denmark are doing well so far, they may become the surprise package in the weaker Group A.

Century for Bas Zuiderent, good to see the Dutch opening bat finding some form after a few lean years.
Will be intersting to see if Scotland can beat Canada.

Kent, I'd imagine. Besides, he's even less economical than Simon Jones. (edit: apparently not, hasn't been playing since 22 June, when he bowled one over for 16 against Surrey and was promptly dropped. Weird.)

No way is USA gonna chase 274 on Irish pitches. Denmark by 100 runs. Oman is in with a shout, though, Asoka is standing in their game ;) Reckon they'll lose by 250, in all seriousness. Kamyuka got 4 for 42 against Ireland, promising, but there's no way they're gonna chase 236 to win. 40 short, I'd say. Namibia looked struggling against PNG, game stopped updating at 109 for 4, still think they'll bowl them out for about 100 and win by the same amount. Bermuda have set a tricky 219 for 9 against UAE - could be close, UAE by two wickets. And Scotland by three wickets against Canada, if they conceded 282 against the Burgers I should think Scotland would have little problems even with their fragile batting.
