***Official*** ICC Trophy Thread

The 5 teams is correct yes.
The ODI status is sort-of correct, too :).

In fact, matches that these five qualifiers plus Kenya play against each other or any of the Test nations will count as full ODI's, and the ODI ladder will comprise 16 nations. The six nations on the lowest rungs of the ladder will have to qualify for the WC2011 at the next ICC Trophy in 2009, where the top six nations will again qualify for ODI status. So it is actually possible that the likes of Bangladesh, Zimbabwe or Windies will have to play the next ICC Trophy if Kenya or anyone else manages to overtake them in the next few years

The Dutch are going well: Namibia 120/5 after 32 overs.

Elsewhere, scores are pretty even, although Oman is starting to struggle against Canada.
Scotland vs. PNG hasn't even started yet due to a wet pitch.

PNG six runs for three wickets - Blain 2-0-2-2, Hoffmann 2-1-1-1.

USA have seen off Kamyuka, only lost the one wicket, haven't hit much but it looks like Neil might be more right than me.

It is. Can't get it to update either.

Netherlands vs. Namibia is also on teletekst.nos.nl, page 615, but even slower :(

Same here. It's starting to become better, though. Namibia 181 for 9, Schiferli with four for 50, ten Doeschate one for 23 (off four overs!)

PNG 20 for 5. Poor blokes. USA 111 for 1 against Uganda...

Namibia 188ao...should go to the Dutch, this one.

UAE 230ao. Reasonable score, but the Irish should manage that.

Bermuda 249/8. Will be close, probably. Favour Bermuda over Denmark right now, tbh.

PNG 44/6, so Scotland should win this easily.

Canada 63/0 chasing 185, an upset is no longer likely.

No info on USA vs. Uganda currently.

Yup. Need another Klokker ton. Shame, I would have loved to round up a bunch of "rooligans" and go and support Denmark in the West Indies...

I hope UAE can pull a upset cus i would hate to see Bermuda or Denmark in the WC. They probably get smashed too but not as bad.

Ah! Bermuda got around 50 runs off the last 4 overs. Denmark really let them off the hook. It's a shame really, I would have joined Hakon in the West Indies

Hey, for whoever wondered where Amjad Khan is (James90?)

http://politiken.dk/visartikel.iasp?pageid=384308

Yes, I appreciate that Danish is difficult, so I'll translate:

"The Danish dreams of qualifying for cricket's finest tournament in next week's B World Championship fell drastically (translator's note: the language in the original is fairly appalling), when the team's great star Amjad Khan had to pull out of the tournament.

Khan plays for the English club Kent CCC, and he's ranked as one of the best bowlers in the English league, which is the world's best (translator's note: clearly the writer had no clue about cricket). Thus, he's a pivotal player for the Danish team.

"Amjad has got some problems with his back and has been forced to pull out. It is a very painful loss for the Danish team, and it definitely reduces our chances of qualifying for the World Cup," says the Danish Cricket Federation's elite sports director, Jørgen Jønsson."

So there. Not that he'd be much good today, mind, he's a pretty appalling death bowler from memory. GO FREDRIK!
