I guess the only bright spot for Arsenal is that it is one of the usual suspects who has got injured. You always expect that pair to get crocked.

They were literally the worst people to get injured (bar Cech). We're now without our first five right midfield/wing options.

Alexis is at home, along with six other first team players. Cech, OX and Giroud were the only first XI players who started.

I always knew Rooney wasn't the sharpest knife in the drawer but now I know why he seems shot at 30. I didn't know he was smoking, eating junk food and turning up to training in slippers.

Smoking and junk food and done at 30. He must be reading the How to be a Pro footballer 1970 edition. And now he is done at 30 like many were back then.

It really grates that he's also slack on the training pitch. That's not what you expect from the highest paid player in club history. What an example to younger players. I hope LVG has the stones to do something with him. Although he seems more concerned with Depay right now.
Rooney's longevity is actually one of the most impressive things about him, he might only be 30 but in football terms he is a lot older than that, 14 years is a pretty long career. There are plenty of strikers that have been done before his age, and most of them were not playing top flight football at 16.

Kind of surprised Arsenal played that many first team players, should have just not included any of them. The League Cup really needs to go.

To be fair I think most of the ones who played either really needed a game (pretty much the entire defence) or were included simply because there was nobody else suitable (Cech and Giroud). Chamberlain and Walcott picking up injuries is pretty dire though, I guess Campbell will be given another chance to show what he can do in the Prem.

Just play youth team players. Sure there would be the whole 'disrespecting' the competition thing but it does not deserve any.

Trouble is our actual best youth team players are either on loan or at the u17 World Cup. As Sledger said Ox could've done with a good game against poorer opposition too. I wouldn't have played Cech mind.

lol at Chelsea though. They actually played a strong side.

England's U17 team emulated the senior side by being knocked out at group stage

Meanwhile, if Oz and NZ win their round of 16 matches against Nigeria and Brazil respectively (walk in the park ), they will play in the quarters in the match the entire footballing world has been waiting for

Le Coq couldn't even get into the Charlton team when he was loaned out but still made it. I still have hope for Gnabry and Crowley and the other guys out on loan.

Neat and tidy but not strong enough or fit enough was the view of Shrewsbury fans on him when we played them.
Not that surprising tbh. Without trying to come across too disrespectful, I sometimes wonder the point of loaning out players like that below the Championship.
