It's legit disgraceful. It was acceptable if he was going to play a 4-2-3-1 with Özil as the 10, but if he's going to play a 4-1-4-1/4-3-3 with Özil wide and Wlshere in the middle then life can **** off.
I doubt this is a system we'll see very often. It was obviously a safety first/do not lose approach given how Arsenal got rolled by Everton just a couple of months back. Not that it did any good for most of this match, but still.

We've played it every game this season so far tbh. Someone needs to tell Wenger ts pointless trying to copy Germany when we don't have Kroos or Muller.

Really getting up my nose how the MotD pundits are moaning about Sanchez playing up front because "he's not a forward". I know I shouldn't expect much of Shearer and Savage, but come on.

Can't remember ever going home so happy with a point before. Played 75 minutes with 10 men but were the better side but such a distance in the second half. Birmingham were crap, just a slightly upgraded version of a league one hoofball side but I am feeling pretty comfortable about us holding our own in this division.

I seem to remember the odd game when he played out wide and did a good job tbf. The one against Real Madrid when Nani got sent off, for instance.
He played in the middle. Man-marking job on Alonso.

I guess he could do a Park/Kuyt type job in big games, although those guys got a lot of big goals. But I think that role might be dead. Tracking the full back is 100% standard, except for Ronaldo.

I get where Wenger was coming from, but to be honest, I'd have spent the £30m just to ensure Chelsea didn't get him.

Hasn't Welbeck played out wide for England on occasion? Usually when we've had Rooney and Sturridge through the middle?

Think he's in danger of becoming that rarest of beasts, an underrated Englishman. I like the cut of his jib; not a world beater but has a lot of the tools one looks for: pace, height, decent first touch, good engine.

Angel di Maria would be a great signing but surely they need defenders not more attacking players?

Seems a complete waste of money buying a world class attacking unit when you have a useless defence.

Yeah I wouldn't say it's a waste given how good he is, but I do agree it'll be strange if they don't look to add more quality in the middle and/or down back.

Distinctly dull super Sunday today with four average sides. One of these should have been put on the MNF slot so we could enjoy Liverpool-City today, because I hate Monday nights

Monday Night Football is brilliant imo. Much better than Super Sunday for mine (and not just because I hate the tag of "Super Sunday").

Yes the first moan of the season about Super Sunday not being so Super. I was just going to make it myself. Yet nice added dig at Man U. Even though I'm finding that a bit redundant nowadays.

Tbf with tomorrow being a bank holiday I can live with it. But normally I'm in a vile mood on a Monday and don't feel like watching anything. The coverage is indeed excellent though. Neville and Carragher are superb pundits.
