The mind boggles *shudders*

Ashley Cole now saying how nobody gave a stuff about him, and it was all for Thierry Henry: http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/story?id=378880&cc=3436

Out of interest when is England's next international/s? With Aaron Lennon would this mean Shaun Wright-Phillips will get a game, or keep Gerrard on the right wing again? Since I haven't had the chance to watch many of England's games of late (watched the Greece game, didn't bother about Andorra and they didn't show Macedonia) how has he been in that position? From what I have read it is his more natural position?

Aye, sounds about right on how the CDMs would keep hold of mercenaries like chief poseur. Ashley gets all the stick and chief poseur is hailed as a loyal hero... Premiership football club fans are the biggest suckers on the planet.

I wonder how much of it is actual fact. But like I said going to have a meetin with the manager of one of your biggest rivals with your board's permisson is of course going to get himself offside with them. It wouldn't surprise me if he burnt his bridges (no pun intended towards Wayne Bridge) there and then.

Loony BoB

International Captain
I find it pretty funny that people are dissing Johnson for scoring a lot from penalties rather than open play. Surely the words "scores from the penalty spot" should be operating like an alarm clock all throughout England... I mean, last time I checked, only Owen Hargreaves can do that!

Norwood's on Fire
I was arguing pro-Johnson with almsot everybody on here pre-World Cup. I rated him. In the Premiership, yeah he scored a lot of penalties, but people ignored the fact that he won two thirds of those penalties, half of them from chances where he surely would have scored, and a penalty is still a goal for God's sake.

Needless to say, he signed for Everton and I hoped he would prove me wrong by being completely inept. Needless to say I'm gutted.

I find it amusing that the one who has stuck by the side and signed a new contract is mercenary but the one who had illegal meetings with another club and has moved for more money is defended by SP.

Couldn't possibly be because one is English and the other French could it?

Sven kept selecting him for squads regardless of the stick he got for it - how is that debateable what he thinks of him?
How much Sven thinks of Hargreaves compared to how much McClaren thinks is debatable. Not the facts you are referring to.

Doesn't the bit before the italics contradict the bit after?
Bit in italics was what you said..

Where did I defend Ashley? Oh wait that would your paranoia wouldn't it...

They both dive, they're both money grabbers and they're both mercenaries. Chief strung the process out for ages and got all the pampering and got the deal he wanted, knowing he'd be barely premiership club class in a couple of seasons.

The phrase 'Ashley gets all the stick and chief poseur is hailed as a loyal hero' make it sound like you think Cole is a victim.

England's next international is againts Croatia on October 11th so i guess Lennon will be back by then. On Gerrard he has been fairly impressive on the right he has pretty much made it his own ATM. Lennon for now should still be the man to come in the latter part of the game to run at the tired full-back.

I was highlighting the double standards, if someone had defended both of them they'd at least have a losing argument as opposed to no argument like certain CDMs fans.

What do you mean defended both of them?

I don't think any Arsenal fan would defend Cole for his actions, whereas Henry has done nothing wrong and yet you still continue the vendetta.

Didn't realise you were that naive.

What has he done wrong then? No clandestine meetings with Premiership rivals that I'm aware of.

As I've said before it isn't leaving Arsenal I have an issue with, rather the manner of Butch Ashley's departure & his conduct beforehand. Reyes & Pires were honest about their reasons for leaving & both leave with my best wishes.
