What has he done wrong then? No clandestine meetings with Premiership rivals that I'm aware of.

As I've said before it isn't leaving Arsenal I have an issue with, rather the manner of Butch Ashley's departure & his conduct beforehand. Reyes & Pires were honest about their reasons for leaving & both leave with my best wishes.
Chief poseur screwed around with your club for months on end just so he could get more money despite knowing the whole circus would have a negative effect on the club itself - getting a long contract in the process so he'll still be getting a fortune and be at a reasonably decent side when he's past it (a la Bergkamp). If you think he didn't talk to Barcelona and the like you're deluded and you can be sure if he was younger he'd have gone elsewhere.

If you're happy with that sort of goings on you've obviously very low standards, but that goes without saying given you're a CDMs fan.

I'd very much doubt he spoke to other clubs; Dein would've been all over it.

& he could've got more money elsewhere had he chosen to, but, IIRC you think he was happy to settle for the mediocrity of the team that reached the European Cup final last year. & surely if he was such a mercenary the fact that he's now 29 would've made him more likely to go elsewhere for one final payday?

& I'm happy we're a team that still employs Liam Brady, Pat Rice, Steve Bould & Martin Keown in one capacity or another. But we don't inspire loyalty, do we?

Well they certainly don't seem to inspire any fair play, or anyone from the British Isles for that matter.

And no unless Dein is a 24 hour a day private investigator with government level surveillance then he won't be all over it.

Chief poseur wouldn't get as long a contract at any other decent club, so in the end he'd lose out anyway (note the decent club bit, before someone points out a mickey mouse Japanese team or something).

FFS, Beevers. That applies to pretty much every Wendyball team in the Premiership and the Championship. Probably most of the teams below them, too. You don't vilify Liverpool, Tottenham, Fulham, Wigan, Middlesborough, Chelsea and the rest at any and every opportunity but instead just single out one team to call cheats. I'm sick to death of stepping into this thread to read nothing but hypocritical rants posted by you and everyone else arguing back.

You seriously think Henry meeting with another club wouldn't have made the papers?

& Henry signed a 4 year deal; no club would've offered him less because he can walk at the the end of it for nowt & that's their investment gone. Shevchenko's a year older than Henry & he signed a four year deal too.

The CDMs are by far the worst of any of that lot you mention. Me not bothering to go through every team on the planet on a case by case basis and then calling them lesser cheats doesn't make me hypocritical.

As a collective team, the CDMs are IMO the worse, but individual players such as Ronaldo and Drogba are just as bad if not worse.

Steven Gerrard not in the Liverpool eleven tonight and the ‘potent’ strike force of Crouch and Fowler is replaced by Bellamy and Dirk Kuyt. Big game for Liverpool tonight, even more so with their terrible performance on the weekend.

Have been too busy with work and haven't had the time to subscribe to Ten Sports which is showing CL even though I was aware it is starting today. AGH.

Can't believe the manager keeps picking Nobbie. Should be obvious to everyone that he was finished years ago, one footed player with zero pace, height, intelligence etc. and has absolutely nothing going for him really except for being a flat track bully - playing a Coca Cola Division Two side in the FA Cup? Pick Nobbie otherwise don't bother.

Dirk Kuyt's surname causing all kinds of bother with our commentators. Until tonight they'd settled on "kite" now the ITV-wallah is going for "Cow-t". I wonder if one of our esteemed Dutch speakers could set them straight....? :p

Norwood's on Fire
Forest losing, Vale losing. Whites drawing 1-1, come on, a couple of goals could see us top tonight

Liverpool could have done with Fernando Morientes tonight, got a hat-trick for Valencia CF. Elsewhere it was goals galore apart from Liverpool’s group that is.

Also nice to hear from the Sky boys about Barcelona’s generosity, paying UNICEF for the right to have their name on their shirt, good stuff.

Predictions:

Liverpool 1 PSV 1

Chelsea 2 WB 1
Prediction not that far off, but the results are spot on.

Looking at the other matches today Barcelona, Roma & Bayern hardly tested, very shocked to see Inter losing to Sporting but i'd back them to get the better of them in the return leg, Valencia a great result in greece, while Bordeaux will pleased to get a draw in Turkey.

Got tickets to Old Trafford 2moro night, gotta get Rooney's autograph somehow..
