*Official* English Football Season 2006-07

Boro will be alright - I just think Pompie are going to be an extremely strong side this year. Redknapp is an extremely good manager.

I like to think it's the Arsenal influence paying dividends myself: Adams, Kanu, Sol.... :p

Typical Boro…

Great win (and start) for Pompey however. Who what have thought Kanu would get four in a season let alone in four in three.

Cracking game on the weekend eh Craig? :)

Other than the ridiculous money Chelsea offered, Crespo's form for Inter that season was really poor, scored a peach on Saturday though.
So it would be correct of me to assume you are a fellow Inter fan?

Personally I find the the whole transfer circle to the be the biggest circus of them all. I mean I am using my fingers and toes for how many players Man Utd or AC Milan are supposed to be buying (in their case strikers).

Personally if I were Jose Mourinho (or would that be Frank Arnesen [sp?] job?) I would have put in a offer for Gianluca Zambrotta instead when Juventus got relegated, screw what Mourinho might say, these players will never be so cheap so you may as well make hay will you can. Would of been better then make some random signing like Khalid Boulahouz.

Yes, I’ll follow the Nerazzurri, ever since C4 showed Italian football on the weekends and seeing the likes of Rubén Sosa, Bam Bam et cetera in action. What started as a flirtatious interest has now become a love, not in the same realms of my passion for Blackburn Rovers but I do follow Inter’s progress keenly. Forza Inter! :)

I don't mind Zambrotta where he is now. So it worked out fine in the end.

Of course you would say that :p

Should be pretty good in Spain this season, with your team, Real Madrid and Valencia all strengthening up sigificantly. If only Real Madrid can get rid of a striker or two...

Ya I watched Real's first game and they looked quite solid. Upfront, they was some thing lacking and as you say, a striker or two could really strengthen them. They have got this young player who looked and talented as well (forgot his name - dark complexion, looks very strong). Right now they are playing a 4-3-2-1 but that should change when Ronaldo comes in or some other striker comes.

Ronaldo was looking to go to Milan I think but the transfer fees proved to be a problem. From Real's point of view, the sooner he goes, the better IMO. Also, I never understand why Robinho is played so less. The few minutes he played again, he looked quite good. Capello will likely change this in the future and Real will be a very strong team.

McLaren has indicated so far that he is nothing like Sven was.
How has he done that?

One game so far, and there were so many similarities to Sven it was as if Sven was still in charge.

As for Ferguson, it is fairly obvious he deserved his knighthood.
Not when you look at others who didn't get it because the Prime Minister at the time was more interested in politics then appearing "cool"

Looking good for Pompey. Southgate looks to have a job on his hands up in Smoggyville tho.
I think his main problem is that he's lost Southgate from the centre of the defence.
