Admittedly your figures is more related to O'Neill's tenure, tho.

Since Man City and Bolton are there, how come they are so much money in debt? Would surely change next time with Juventus set to enjoy life in Serie B and enyoing visits to Genoa, Napoli etc.

In effect it's not better than McLaren did.
Well it kinda is. Premiership finishes under the two:

The O'Neill years:
1996/97: 9th
1997/98: 10th
1998/99: 10th
1999/2000: 8th

The McClaren years:
2001/02: 12th
2002/03: 11th
2003/04: 11th
2004/05: 7th
2005/06: 14th

Are Napoli even in Serie B? I thought they managed to fall even lower than that?

Interesting. Fergie doesn't want Solskjær to play in Norway's match against Brazil B in a week, which should mean he can't be that far away from regaining his perennial place as super sub?

It's based on turnover I believe.

Yeah they went up.

Surprised they didn't look to buy Fabio Cannavaro's brother Paolo since he has openly said he wants to play for them again one day. Fabio will probably end up there once he is done with Real Madrid.

But even so, but eventually you would get out of debt?

Then again I never did study economics so that explains it...

Anyway I watched the Inter-Porto friendly in the Amsterdam Tournament, and the commentator talked about rising Brazilian and Porto star Anderson and he said he had been dubbed the 'new Ronaldinho'.

Would this then make Ronaldoinho past it or starting to lose his touch then?

It is the amount of incoming revenue from day to day football business operations, It doesn't take into account wages, transfer fees.

Bolton could have a turnover of 50M but they might pay 60M in wages but it wouldn't affect their position in this table

predictable loss for us on the opening day, im sure Geraint can fill me in on the game, 2 guys sent off in the last 5 mins, from what i hear we had plenty of possesion without looking like scoring.

Although apparently we are signing a guy from Real Oviedo called Diego Cervero
Fairly even game, you lot looked ok but lost it in the last few minutes. Whether the first red card was right or not is a tough call, but the fact that the ref gave the free-kick left him with little choice but to give the red card, because Zola was brought down in a one-on-one, harsh foul but once it's given you've tied your own hands as a referee. Your players got all hotheaded afrter that and from what I'm told can have no complaints about the second red, though I never saw it apparently someone kicked the ball at Zola's head while he was down, something petulant like that that you will always walk for basically.

I'd say that what you heard about plenty of possesion without looking like scoring sounds about right. To be fair, I can see this division being as bad as it was last year, Donny lost to Carlisle yesterday, expect to see another season of inconsistency all over the shop would be my prediction!!

To be fair I could never have seen us losing yesterday, but I'd expect Oldham to do reasonably well this season.

Not as well as us though :p coz we got Chris Shuker and Chris Greenacre :D

Plenty have as I'm sure you're aware. Before he arrived Celtic had won one title in twelve years. Lennon was also a great signing for mine, all the best teams need a defensive midfielder & O'Neill obviously knew what he was capable of. As an Ulster catholic he'd obviously appreciate what it meant to play for Celtic too.

It's their success in Europe that is more impressive to me tho. Due to the limited appeal of Scottish football Celtic's turnover is a fraction of even run-of-the-mill Premiership teams & it showed he can fashion a team to compete with the big boys.

For sure seen in the all mighty failure which was the 'dream team' of Kenny Dalglish and John Barnes (and the realistic prospect that Rangers new manager, the highly rated Paul Le Guen's term will not be as successful as first thought, considering the team he has inherited and the restricted budget given to him). But as I said early O'Neill did have a substantial size kitty and Rangers were going through the mire financially. O'Neill did do a good job at Celtic, do not get me wrong but I really do think his stock as a manager is inflated greatly and up to scrutiny.

Also in regard to Lennon, I was never doubting his Ulster Catholic roots, you only have to go into a Glasgow nightclub on a Saturday night to see how ‘committed’ he is to the cause. Witnessed in his penchant for singing sectarian songs.

Portsmouth are very interested in David James. I have lost count of how many goal keepers they have signed in the last couple of seasons. I'm not sure if Nicky Weaver is the option to go for since he is probably more injury prone then Chris Kirkland
