I see, so when Eriksson plays Rooney on his own up front it's worthy of a load of abuse, but McLaren gets away with it.

At least Hansen criticised the Eriksson clone.
There were three up front and there was never a lack of players in advanced positions except for when Johnson got the ball a couple of times. Stop being so gormless it's somewhat tiresome having to correct the bull you're taking as facts to further your pathetic point scoring on McClaren.

Err..Klinsi's retired and Joachim Löw is coach now.
Bit of a Harry Enfield reference I'm afraid. Jurgen the German! :)

But thanks for trying to make me look like a tool. :p

May as well say the same to you, only replace McClaren with Henry or even the word football.

Yawn.

If Eriksson had been in charge tonight you'd have launched into a vitriol as to how awful he is.

Nothing has changed with this side from the World Cup, yet suddenly the players are at fault, not the manager.

Funny that...

Robinson is lucky we've no serious competition for the keeper's jersey just yet, 'cos he was badly at fault for their goal.
Oi. :p You not noticed the fact that the best goalkeeper in England by a mile this season isn't even in the squad? ;)

Last three words of your sentence are entirely superfluous.
I have to admit that he's been looking good recently. Not brilliant but I have more faith in Mike than at the start of the season.

That would be taking one giant step backwards IMO. On grounds of residency, Carlo Cudicini for England!!!!

On Richards, one think that he showed last tonight & has been showing for City this season is that he has pace, strenght & the legs to play as a wing-back in the future, which is great IMO, since it would mean England now can play my favourite 3-5-2 formation in the future.

As you know in the 3-5-2 you gotta have 2 guys in mid-field to sit deep and break up the oppostion attacks or one do it and the other anchor the play a la Pirlo then one given the freedom to roam (Which would be Stevie G). I'm convinced Hargreaves can do the breaking up well it but his possible partner in Parker/Carrick needs to prove it on the international stage, if Scholes could come out of retirement he be the perfect partner since he has really excelled in that deepish role this season & him imaging him & Hargraves in front of the back-line looks brutal. But then i'd have to leave out Joe which i can't do.

So what do you guys think would England be better off sticking with the trusted 4-4-2 and utilizing the Gerrard, Cole, Lennon, SWP & possibly Barry on the flanks:

------------------------------------------------------ROBINSON-----------------------------------------------------------

NEVILLE-----------------------------FERDINAND-----------------TERRY-----------------------------------ASH

------------------------------------------------------HARGREAVES------------------------------------------------------

STEVIE G-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------JOE

-------------------------------------------------------LAMPS----------------------------------------------------------------

----------------------------------------OWEN---------------------------ROONEY---------------------------------------

OR the stylish 3-5-2, since we definately have the players to work that formation effectively now.

----------------------------------------------------ROBBO-------------------------------------------------------------------

-------------------------------------------------FERDINAND---------------------------------------------------------------

-------------------------------------TERRY---------------------WOODGATE/KING----------------------------------

RICHARDS-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ASH

--------------------------------------HARGREAVES----------PARKER/CARRICK-------------------------------

--------------------------------------------------------------STEVIE G-----------------------------------------------------

----------------------------------------------OWEN---------------------------ROONEY---------------------------------

Roses 3-5-2 looks more to me like 5-3-2. :p I never understood how having five defenders suddenly turns into 3-5-2. You may as well say that 4-4-2 is actually 2-6-2 because the LB and RB constantly move right up the line to attack.

One Mr. David James I assume?
Indeed. He's been twice the player Robinson has this season, but of course because he plays for an unfashionable club he's been ignored. As have Johnson, Campbell and O'Neil...8-)

How dare you even suggest Chelsea loan out Carlo!! I love him - he's a great keeper & has a fantastic pair of legs. I doubt you even noticed that 8-)
:boxed:

TBF I knew you are Carlo's number one fan (although I don't look for his pair of legs) and that is what I would have done personally.

So how did Robert Green get picked for England whilst in the Championship when he was at Norwich?

You fail to acknowledge the fact that there were 3 upfront instead of 1.

Because we literally had no-one else. James wasn't having a good time of things, Kirkland was injured, and Foster was even further out in the wilderness than he is now. Besides, Green left the Championship soon enough, and he still only has two caps.
