You fail to acknowledge the fact that there were 3 upfront instead of 1.
The 3 up front idea is so harsh on Johnson. Would have been interesting to see him actually used through the centre, especially as Owen will be returning in the next couple of internationals.

Indeed. He's been twice the player Robinson has this season, but of course because he plays for an unfashionable club he's been ignored. As have Johnson, Campbell and O'Neil...8-)
On James, yea he has been the best English goalie this season, but remember he was dropped in the first place after Euro 2004 because he made a lot of costly mistakes & between then & Crotia game Robinson has clearly been the best, he's just going through a bit of a bad period. But if James keeps doing well despite his age there could still be a place for him in Euro 2008.

Campbell is still one of the best central defenders in the country but England have a lot of talent in this area behing Terro/Rio so i don't think we'd miss him too much.

O'Neil is a fair way down the pecking order, but i won't mind seeing him play..

Roses 3-5-2 looks more to me like 5-3-2. :p I never understood how having five defenders suddenly turns into 3-5-2.
Well i guess you can say when in attack it 3-5-2 but in defense in 5-3-2, but with Englad it would be always 3-5-2 since Cole & Richards(whenever he becomes a regular) will always roam foward.

Screw the international nonsense, back to league football.

So, its pretty sweet for the forest at the minute

You're still in Third Division, below Plymouth, Burnley, Barnsley, Southend and Luton.

Saw on the Eurosport News this morning that Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester United and Liverpool are all going to bid for S***hampton left back Gareth Bale, so he must be alright then as a player (take away that he is Welsh and plays for S***hampton - Pitt do forgive me mentioning those two) then?

Anyway this should put in end to the Hargreaves - Old Trafford stories, and Reading duo Ibrahima Sonko and Stephen Hunt recieved death threats over what happened with Petr Cech and Carlo Cudicini - deadset idiots, why not get a job and/or a life.

And more sad news on Ferenc Puskas http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/europe/6155766.stm

RIP, a brilliant brilliant footballer who led one of the, if not the, greatest football teams to grace this earth. What a record he had.

Internationally, 83 goals in 84 games. Domestically for Real Madrid, 512 goals in 528 games. That's incredible.

Alzheimers sounds a proper nasty way to go. :(

It seemed inevitable really buy the sounds of things but it is tragic for the sport to see clear greats of the game go in the last few months.

1. I'm glad someone else around here uses asterisks on the word describing they who must not be named. :D

2. Gareth Bale is actually really quite good.

3. RIP Puskas, a genuine, bona fide all-time hero. Unquestionably his country's finest ever footballer, and you'd have to doubt that they'll ever produce a finer one. Up there with Pele, Maradona, Zidane, Cruyff, Platini, Beckenbauer, Moore and Di Stefano as the greatest there's ever been. RIP. :(

More to do with his past misdemeanours though, he has hardly covered himself in glory for England.

Also in regard to the three player you mention, If you are referring to Glen Johnson, his overrated ****e (was ****e at Millwall as well). Pissed Chelsea off royally and failed to show any sort of common sense by consistently lunging into challenges. Was crucified in a couple of Champions League game and that was the end of him. Big time Charlie.

Like Gary O’Neil though, fantastic tank but his not international class, definitely a very good pro. Whereas Sol has had his turn, getting massacred by Bobby Zamora is maybe not enough to taint one man’s career but he was liable in the WC for a goal Sweden scored and his lost one of his best qualities, pace.

Also sad news about Puskás, true champion of the game. Ridiculously impressive record not only at national level but four goals in a European Cup final, a European Cup final hat-trick two years later, no big game bottler here, ****ing legend.
