This is absolutely pathetic from England so far in the second half, have they managed two passes in a row yet? I doubt it.

What a load of drivel this is, they can't do simple passes, if it's not Gerrard or Rooney smashing the ball to someone 5 yards away it's someone like Joe Cole managing to lift the ball on someone's head for no reason so the ball ends up running to a Netherlands player. These lot must of lost a hell of a lot of footballs when they were kids knocking the ball about in the garden.

Also would someone give Rooney the necessary rocket needed to stop him being so lazy and nonchelant? He's been completely abject.

With Englands Rugby Players, Footballers and Cricketers consistantly thrashed by new year, do you think everyone will go back to the old womens curling?

Dire performance again..

Finish to the game was rather ‘exciting’ but for 85 minutes I was losing the will to live, the Dutch were abysmal but they got a draw whilst being truly terrible.

Finally England play with some sort of purpose - in injury time at the end of the second half. Rooney stopped doing his stupid, pointless, half-arsed, never gone work in a million years flicks and controlled the ball and takes someone on for once and beats him comprehensively.

No point blaming the formation, the odd player was in the wrong position but it was mainly just England's lackadaiscal attitude and aversion to passing the ball properly.

yup

why do you think we want to get rid of Marco van Basten, we got quality players, but he chooses abysmal guys.

He's not a solo striker...
Rooney had plenty of support, he kept trying to pick them out with his 'oh I'll just wave my foot at the ball in a half-arsed way and hope for the best' flicks.

it was dull game until the last 5 mins of so for real, but good to see Rooney scoring he had a fairly good game, Richards was impressive, but it was typical of England after scoring an early goal defending way too deep and then conceding a goal againts a dutch side who were just poor.

Rooney did not have a good game, he got lucky with the goal and apart from right at the end he did nothing else but give the ball away the rest of the time.

Dire match. Can't wait for the laws outlawing sideways and backwards passes to come into effect.

Robinson is lucky we've no serious competition for the keeper's jersey just yet, 'cos he was badly at fault for their goal.

I see, so when Eriksson plays Rooney on his own up front it's worthy of a load of abuse, but McLaren gets away with it.

At least Hansen criticised the Eriksson clone.
