*Official* English Football Season 2006-07

Loony BoB

International Captain
Either way, hard to ask for more from the lad, scores more than a goal per game in the league (2005-2006 season, 30 games, 33 goals), has 2 goals in 3 games for Holland (both in a game against the Republic of Ireland) and a CL goal against Internazionale, all at the age of 23.

Compare that with Ruud, who had 29 goals in 23 games in the same league the season before he moved to Man United, it's not too far off. I'll be interested, although still cautious... will have to trust SAF to make the right choice.

I have no confidence in this England team qualifying for the Euros, which basically says it all about McClaren's brief time in charge.
surely we'll qualify, its if we will improve on the international stage is the big question.

good to see Mclers starting with Richards, sort of felt he would have gone conservative and played Carragher @ RB, good signs from the manager that..

Fat Frank 9-1 to score the first goal, 3-1 to score at any time.

With Andy "balance" Johnson in the team, that must be worth a sniff.

Is it Top 2 = automatically through then?
Yes.

Anyway I saw this morning that Chelsea had signed Magnus Hedman, AFAIK he wasn't involved in football (as a player) after he left Celtic, or either that he was playing for a Swedish club? And does his transfer go through now or January? Please help Hakon (or anybody else) since you know what goes on in your part of the world.

I'm surprised they would got for Hedman when they could have waited to January and put in a nice bid to loan Buffon from Juventus and give them Carlo Cudicini in return on loan for the rest of the season. Would have been perfect for all parties there (even if Carlo is a Milan fan :@ ) .

Hedman hasn't played since June 2005 - but as a free agent he can be picked up and registered for domestic football at any time.

He cannot play for them in Europe though because of the stricter regulations in force.

Israel to beat Croatia is my outside tip. They're very solid at home &, despite wiping the floor with us, Croatia aren't any great shakes, especially away from home.

Switzerland-Brazil draw might be tempting too, depending on the odds; Swiss offer little going forward, but are very tight at the back.

What Brazil side is it though? I would be more inclined to fancy the young guns who want moves and need to impress then say if fat boy lead the line all night and decided to do sweet FA. Personally I try and stay away from such games (friendlies), 99 times out of 100 they are usually a farce.

Yeah makes sense, but I just won some money from the tennis, thought I may continue to ride my luck and see how I go.
