Two of them were crackers too and not a good night for another ex-Man Utd player (although he was in the Osasuna goal) out there.

But Osasuna's goal was comical defending all four looked like they were standing around having a few beers at the pub then doing their job. I mean come on I'm sure it is taught at the junior levels when defending a corner you have man back on the goal-line behind the goal keeper just in case.

With Petr cech injured, Gigi Buffon in Serie B ATM could Iker Casillas claim to be the number 1 goalie in the world? Certainly 2nd for mine at least.
Thought his second (or was it his third) was a miss hit, a fantastic one at that but it seemed like he was intending to go across the GK. But his last strike was awesome. Good start to his career at Real, pressure on Ronaldo now.

The FA should really cancel these meaningless mid-season friendlies, look at how many players have pulled out to date, but geez why did Mclers have to call back Richardson damn i would honestly rather see Etherington as back-up on the left than him. But as usual i'lll be watching from kick-off cursing away at the lads & hopefully we get a positive result in Amsterdam since defeat would not be good.

I reckon McClaren may start with:

Robinson

Carragher
Terry
Rio
A Cole

Gerrard
Lampard
Carrick
Joe

Rooney
Johnson

With Richards, SWP & Crouch/Bridge the likely subs
Its a Mickey Mouse friendly, means next to nothing in the bigger picture. The Netherlands will not be taking it seriously although I see Van Basten has recalled Clarence Seedorf, things must be pretty barren in the Dutch midfield because both guys hate each . And there’s no place for Ruud as well though Huntelaar plays.

it may be a mickey mouse friendly, but you know as well as i that a poor showing and the media and other fans will not be too polite towards Mclaren.

Will be looking foward to seeing Klass, the so call dutch next big thing & possible United future player.

Do you mean Klaas-Jan Huntelaar? Not United material by a long shot IMO.

England have lost another five players ahead of the pointless game against Holland. Expect them (Holland) to win.

England squad:

Goalkeepers: Paul Robinson (Tottenham), Ben Foster (Man Utd)

Defenders: Phil Neville (Everton), Micah Richards (Man City), Rio Ferdinand (Man Utd), John Terry (Chelsea), Jamie Carragher (Liverpool), Wes Brown (Man Utd), Michael Dawson (Tottenham), Ashley Cole (Chelsea), Wayne Bridge (Chelsea).

Midfield: Aaron Lennon (Tottenham), Shaun Wright-Phillips (Chelsea), Steven Gerrard (Liverpool), Frank Lampard (Chelsea), Michael Carrick (Man Utd), Jermaine Jenas (Tottenham), Joe Cole (Chelsea).

Forwards: Wayne Rooney (Man Utd), Peter Crouch (Liverpool), Jermain Defoe (Tottenham), Andrew Johnson (Everton).

Holland squad:

Goalkeepers: Maarten Stekelenburg (Ajax), Henk Timmer (Feyenoord).

Defenders: Khalid Boulahrouz (Chelsea), Giovanni van Bronckhorst (Barcelona), Urby Emanuelson (Ajax), Kew Jaliens (AZ Alkmaar), Joris Mathijsen (Hamburg), Andre Ooijer (Blackburn Rovers).

Midfielders: Denny Landzaat (Wigan Athletic), Hedwiges Maduro (Ajax), David Mendes da Silva (AZ), Stijn Schaars (AZ), Wesley Sneijder (Ajax), Evander Sno (Celtic), Rafael van der Vaart (Hamburg).

Forwards: Klaas-Jan Huntelaar (Ajax), Dirk Kuyt (Liverpool), Robin van Persie (Arsenal), Arjen Robben (Chelsea), Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink (Celtic).

Is AZ's David Mendes da Silva of Brazilian origin (excuse my igorance)?
Shocked to see Wes Brown there.

And rightly so - because that would then be 6 poor efforts in a row...

Shocked to see a fair few of them - 2 shocking performances last set of Internationals and McLaren drops a whole 1 player, who has now been recalled.

Meanwhile the one midfielder who wouldn't have settled for such an incipid performance in Croatia remains out of the squad...

Yea, 5-0 and 4-0 - terrible. I don't particularly rate McClaren (has always been too soft and El Tel won't help to cover that deficiency) but with comments like this you're just managing to **** up an easy point scoring opportunity.

Yes, they won 4-0 and 5-0, but now they did not play anything approaching good.

The Greek defending gifted all 4 goals, and it's noticeable that it was the only time Downing has looked anything approaching good enough (when the Greeks had someone as mobil as Archimedes at right back)

The 5-0 was also a poor performance, bearing in mind the opposition (and bearing in mind that simialr performances under the previous manager drew a lot of vitriol from certain forum members, it's amazing they change their tune when it suits them)

I have no confidence in this England team qualifying for the Euros, which basically says it all about McClaren's brief time in charge.

Downing the only one who created anything in England's last two games, but then you're so blinded by your own gormless vendettas that you wouldn't see that. Only a fool would say strolled 4-0 and 5-0 victories against those two sides are a 'poor effort' - they may or may not be brilliant displays, but they don't have to be great to be elevated above a 'poor effort'. Perhaps you'd like to now find where 'certain forum members' had a go at previous managers when England won 4-0 or 5-0?

Oh yes, Downing did so much in England's last game - the Croat's were clearly scared of the way he sat in the stand having been dropped 8-)

Poor performance, there's a difference - beating teams who neglect to defend does not require any level of performance.

I think it is almost a certainty Ronaldo will be sold in January.

Dismissing him 12 games into the season is harsh, they have already played the big three and their form has been decent over the last couple of weeks, but hey he was always going to struggle in charge of a premiership club and his pre season buys were poor.
If he was a coach of a Brazilian club he would have been sacked after three games.

Just not sure what he's shown to make people believe he is, that's all. Scoring goals in the Dutch league is one thing, but IMO that's two levels below the quality needed to play for ManYoo - needs to either move to another Premiership team beforehand, or play in a different European league. From the Eredivisie to the Premiership is a big step up.

not a long shot, not just jet.
he'll get there, was ace last season, and doing allright this one.

to add to that, who wouldve thought Van Nistelrooy wouldve been so awesome for Man U? not many people...
and i'd rate the dutch league not that far lower then Prem. div.
hangs between PM and Championship.
