(Gary) Neville just ends up punting it most of the time, for Manure or England, not sure I'd even call it 'passing'. Still at least he's giving it away in the opponent's half, as opposed to Carragher who gives it away in his own half.
Which bit of "Carragher was put out of position" did you miss?

marc, scaley and Aussie you ruin this thread. In the France thread i managed to have some decent football debate with boy brumby and others without the petty squabiling you lot provdie in this thread

Hes not an England player though, how old is he now, he must be about 27, without ever getting a regular run in his club side.

Hes up there with David May imo.
Around 25 I think.

Based on what exactly?

On the ball I'd agree, but as an actual defender he makes too many concentration-related mistakes.
True about his concentration but on all qualities essential for a defender Ferdninad's just as good and better in some. Terry's tougher in the tackle though.

So playing someone out of position means they lose their ability to pass does it? Dubious.
A centre half's only aim is to get the ball out - I'd much rather have strong defenders who can only hoof it then those who miss tackles, lose concentration but can pass it 50 yards on a sixpence.

A full back has to get forward and distribute the ball.

But of course since the last manager (the one who played him out of position) is McLaren, it can't possibly be his fault.

lets hope someone buys him, if he's anygood we can't have him rotting at City.

of course that has nothing to do with the 25% sell on clause Oldham have on him
So a massive transfer fee as well?

I saw Tranmere's result's in the paper today, what happened (I know they lost 2-0, but I didn't expect that after their good start and Marc is probably used to Coventry's great sart then blowing it by now :boxed:)?

Well I wasn't there myself, but after speaking to a friend who did go, he said we were simply God-awful. Basically, we have a great first Xi but little else, so as soon as we picked up 1 or 2 injuries, we were bound to slump a bit I guess. That's why I was fuming at Tuesday's capitulation, because I knew Saturday's game and the upcoming match at Swansea would be tough. Aaaah we'll be okay, I think.

Finances are stopping me from travelling away at the minute, but I doubt I'll be very welcome at Bradford anyway, my behaviour there both times last season was far from exemplary

What happened?

Made a few references to the fire they had there years ago?

Hell no. First time round I was rather drunk, and Dean Windass annoys me, so I gave him an unpleasant gesture, the stewards reckoned I was inciting their fans and gave me a final warning, then at the end one of their stewards stood up to prevent a pitch invasion (!!) and totally blocked my view, so I made a point of telling him what I thought of his stewarding on the way out.

Then we went back for the league game, and once again the jounry up there had been laced with too much carlsberg export, and they wouldn't let us sit in the lower tier, so I argued with the stewards (there were some of our fans sitting in there, they just wouldn't let others, for some reason), this time in quite an articulate (well as articulate as you can be when you're drunk and it's only 3pm) and he said if I opened my mouth again I was out. I took it up the tailpipe so to speak, but no doubt my language was profane throughout and I think I'll try and be quiet next time I go there.

As for the fire, I certainly wouldn't reference that, although sadly some of our "fans" did, chavvy little expletives

 Sounds like a great time.

I suppose you would mainly get the real fans for those games and those who care about the club, which I suppose you don't always get at the top flight clubs.

What are ticket prices like in League 1? I guess they would be pretty easy to get?

Tickets? What are they? Pay on the gate mate :D:

The prices are usually around £18, but some clubs like Forest and Oldham (:P: just teasin ya dave) think they're still big clubs and charge £23ish. Disgraceful if you ask me.

It's great watching lower league football though, because you tend to get mainly real fans there like you say, though we do have a fair few troublemakers following us these days. By troublemakers, I mean 15 year olds in burberry who mouth off at anyone and everyone, then run off when things threaten to get nasty.

But for me, watching Tranmere away has always been fun. We have a good drink, a good laugh travelling up, check the local boozers out, and general;ly have a great day, in fact the only thing that tends to ruin it is the football

lower league football is superb. Brentford havnt won for 6 games which is a tad worrying but the game on saturday against Yeovil was actualy pretty good for once. Im not regereting the purchase of my season ticket.

I'm just used to them shattering any thoughts of success by losing stupid games!
